0.000 HBDWOO Game Introduction: Wrestlers and Managers
There is a lot of talk about the $WOO token in the last weeks, but rarely see anything about the game mechanics. I think that is what will bring value to the $WOO token. So I want to fill this gap with this series! I did a research on all the blogposts shared, listened to AMAs and asked also Bookerman a few questions to give you as much information as possible. Articles will be created on: 1. [Shows](https://peakd.com/@arkasz/woo-what-will-be-the-game-like-introduction-and-shows) 2. [Wrestlers and Managers](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-wrestlers-and-managers) 3. [Land](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-land) 4. [Promotions and Championship titles](https://peakd.com/woo/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-promotions-and-championship-titles) This is the 2nd article : Wrestlers and Managers. https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/arkasz/Eo44kYV6XwsnEMeyEy7Xt2RD6CtKk3Peh6Rtt4cTd4NrNa1oCqrhMP1gp8gBZZjz7Sf.png

How to play WOO

You are the owner of a Wrestling Organization
Your wrestling organization can have: - Wrestlers - Managers - Land plots Just like the real wrestling organizations you will manage your people and your stadium/s. --- Let's look at how you can earn some profit to improve your organization: - Try to win *Shows* with your wrestler and manager NFT cards - Own *[Land](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-land)*, where shows can be arranged. Earn dividends, when shows are organized on your [Land](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-land). Improve your [Land](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-game-introduction-land)to earn even more. - Create *Promotions* (Guilds) and manage them. Promotions can create *Championship Titles* as well, which the winning organization earns! If in a show the Champion Title is on stake, then the Promotion members receive dividends. Now let's get to our todays topic... ---

Wrestlers

What would be a Wrestling match without Wrestlers and Managers? Just like a house without walls. Wrestlers are here to fight and managers are here to support them.

Card stats

So let's check out what the cards tell us. We will use the Lore card for Raven, which nicely shows what to look out for.
Stats on character cards

Wrestler Type
What matches can the wrestler fight in. If it needs explanation: - Male Single - One man on the picture - Woman Single - One woman on the picture - Tag Team - 2 man on the picture - Manager - The card has no information on Speed, Damage and Health
Cost
How much does the card cost for the [Show](https://peakd.com/@arkasz/woo-what-will-be-the-game-like-introduction-and-shows) - It's all about the money!
Speed
How fast is the wrestler. Faster cards always connect (= hit). Slower cards have an (10*x)% chance to miss, where x is the difference between the faster and the slower card. This is important to be able to land a match winning pin. More on this later.
Damage
What a hit! If an attack connects, than this is the amount of Health the defender looses, unless they have resistance against the attackers Style. More on Style later.
Health
The amount of health the Wrestler has at the beginning of the fight. The lower the defenders health is, the bigger the chance that they will succumb to a pin and lose the game. More on special moves.
Rarity
There are 4 rarities in game from rarest to most common: Legendary (Gold gem), Epic (Purple gem), Rare (Blue gem) and Common (Gray gem). Rarer cards are usually better, and as their name suggest rarer to obtain, they need less cards to upgrade as well. More on upgrades later.
Belt
Similar to rarity there are silver and gold belt Wrestlers and Managers. Gold belt Wrestlers and Managers are extremely rare but are on a higher base level and need less cards to get upgraded. More on upgrades later.

Stats on Lore cards

Let's look at Enrique Alvaro's Lore card.
Wrestling Style
You know what you like! Is he strong, does he fly or is he tricky. Everyone has their favorite wrestling style, we have them, too. There are 3 different Wrestling Styles in the game: - Powerhouse - High Flying - Technical All of these styles are good against one of the other styles and work in a rock/paper/scissor manner. The benefit comes when defending against a style you are strong against, as you will get resistant. Resistance translates to halving the damage received. This is how the Rock/Paper/Scissor combo works: Technical is resistant to High Flying, which is resistant to Powerhouse, which is resistant to Technical. And this is how the circle completes.
Attack types
There are 2 types of attacks. Normal attacks These do base damage, if they connect (hit). On the Lore cards these are under Move 1 and Move 2. You can check the move art in the Roster part of the WOO website. Here is the Mens Roster: https://wrestlingorganizationonline.com/mens-roster Special attacks Wrestling is a show and as such you need to deliver entertainment with the winning moves as well. Each special attacks needs some preparation, you need to have a few connecting (successful) normal attacks in a row to attempt them. Pinning Combination : The first and most important special attack is the Pinning Combination. This usually happens when your 3rd attack in a row connects, but some higher level wrestlers can attempt it sooner. In this move we try to pin our enemy down to the ground and see if we can keep them there. A successful pining combination is influenced by the remaining health of the defender (see in the table below).
A successful Pinning Combination = Win!
Submission : Some wrestlers have also a special attack called Submission. This is an upgraded Pinning Combination. So even if the Pinning Combination fails the enemy will be held down, and can't attack until he breaks free. A wrestler in submission will try to break out at the beginning of his round. If he succeeds, then he can attack. If he fails, then he will loose a round and try to break free in his next round. Finisher : A finisher requires 3 successful attacks to connect. A successful finisher does 2x attack damage (if the defender has resistance, then this is halved as well). A finisher is always followed up with a Pinning Combination or a Submission. |Defender Health |Pin Chance in %|Submission Chance in % (if applicable)|Breakout chance| |-|-|-|-| |4+|1%|1%|99%| |3|25%|25%|75%| |2|50%|50%|50%| |1|75%|75%|25%| |0|99%|99%|1%| When an attack doesn't connect, then we need to build up our special attacks again with successful Normal Attacks. A failed Pinning Combination or Submission does not count as a failed attack, so the attacker can try to win the game again in the next round. (For special attacks there are 2 evaluations happening. 1st - does the attack connect, 2nd - was the pin successful) This is why Speed is extremely important in WOO: the faster attacker will hit in each round, building up his pin/finisher combos early and consistently (I'm looking at you Billy Mayhem).

Invisible stats

Level
There are still some information missing from the cards related leveling. We don't know how this will be visible on the cards, and we don't know how the leveling will actually work (how many cards are needed to level up, what stats will be awarded to which cards). But what we know is how many levels each rarity will have: |Common | 3 levels| |-|-| |Rare| 4 levels| |Epic| 5 levels| |Legendary| 6 levels| Let's move now to the Managers, as it will bring some insight also into leveling (at least what we know). https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/arkasz/Eo44kYV6XwsnEMeyEy7Xt2RD6CtKk3Peh6Rtt4cTd4NrNa1oCqrhMP1gp8gBZZjz7Sf.png

Managers

We received on one of the AMA's an overview on Sonny Onoo (still Work In Progress), this is a great way to demonstrate : So what will managers do. Manage the wrestlers. They will give buffs and sometimes even actively influence the fights. But if the judge does not approve their activity, then they can be thrown out (elected). Due to that Managers can have: - Passive buffs: Increases some or all stats of the wrestler : speed, damage and health Manager won't get elected. - Active buffs: Manager can get elected. Possible skills: - Distracting opponents causing them to miss moves - Distracting the referee during a pin or submission attempt - Damaging opponents by using foreign objects - Passing foreign objects to managed wrestlers for use in the match - Healing with Pizza So let's check out how this will look like for the
Sonny Onoo (Work In Progress)
|Level|Budget|Speed|Damage|Health|Special| |-|-|-|-|-|-| |1|13|-|-|-|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and gets elected| |2|14|+1|-|-|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and gets elected| |3|15|+1|-|+1|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and gets elected| |4|16|+1|+1|+1|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and gets elected| |5|17|+1|+1|+2|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and gets elected| |6|18|+1|+1|+2|Does 3 damage to the enemy of the wrestlers type he manages in the 2nd round and the 4th round and after that gets elected|
Pizza Baron (Work In Progress)
|Level|Budget|Speed|Damage|Health|Special| |-|-|-|-|-|-| |1|14|-|-|+1|-| |2|15|-|-|+1|Heals the wrestler for 1| |3|16|-|-|+2|-| |4|17|-|-|+2|Heals the wrestler for 1| |5|18|-|-|+3|-| |6|19|-|-|+3|Heals the wrestler for 2| https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/arkasz/Eo6CcWgHqgzXnJaunTyBtKKEqdJKmC3hU7tEVGxbC8j29X5D9jwcmHnQcaK3mN2nHpK.png To see how Wrestlers and Managers can be used in the game check out my post on [Shows](https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@arkasz/woo-what-will-be-the-game-like-introduction-and-shows).
