I'm far more concerned with economic devastation and social engineering - I say this as we have an ongoing TB crisis in Asia that kills far more people than Covid ever will.  And heard of another expat in BKK today who took his own life after he lost his English teaching job, his restaurant was forced to close and now China blocked foreign teachers online.  It's hard to quantify the isolation and the effects of taking away the right to work and travel. 

All the 7 people I know who have died WITH covid had poor health and multiple underlying conditions. The one younger person I know who recently contracted - and recovered from, the Delta version after being treated at home, is also HIV positive.

Staying healthy is always a personal responsibility.  But yes, I AM careful, mindful and safe.
