As mentioned in a previous post that grasshoppers themselves are a type of insects that belong to the herbivorous animals of the sub order of caelifera and they are also included in the order Orthoptera, detailed to distinguish them from species of bush crickets or katydid species sometimes they are also called short-horned grasshoppers, but this term is very  rarely mentioned because people are more familiar with it as a pest for plantations.


##### Why do people like to call it a plant-destroying insect?

This is caused because the farmers do not want their presence because they always devour the green leaves that are growing from the farmers' efforts.

If they make one of the crops managed by farmers as the dominant location. Then this species will make this plant as a host plant and they will breed their pups on the plantation so that the harvest of the farmer fails or the farm manager calls it a crop failure.

This situation is very much feared by every manager of the garden, and they will always try to expel it in any way. Sometimes the farmers chase it away by spraying it with chemicals or spraying it with special liquid so that they immediately move from that location.

This grasshopper is also very well known by every circle of parents and children, the children themselves love it because its body shape and characteristics are very unique, even the grasshopper is often used as a daily toy. His fame in humans makes experts become interested in observing them in their daily lives.

So a lot of information from them after doing research. Then he also introduced his characteristics in every school in biology with the aim to find out their characteristics and how to expel them from every plant.

Lots of data or information on both the deficiencies or advantages contained in these herbivorous animals. Then from the results of the research the farmers also have a way to prevent it with techniques without damaging any plants.

This one species cannot camouflage on plants because its mixed colors such as green and brown make it very easy to find in every plant.  They also like to live in population densities that have ornamental plants in someone's yard, this one is a unique and amazing insect, because it can jump up to 30 times its own body length in one jump.  So that each goal is always achieved from his intention when occupying other plants.

Its size is also very striking with other grasshopper species. In general, female grasshoppers have a larger body than males. This grasshopper always avoids predator attacks such as ducks, chickens or wild birds that always check every day in the morning, so he always monitors the movements of his enemies remotely by catching signals in the form of an antenna on his head.
