**G**enesis Block of Bitcoin, which is now 10 years old, mined at UTC at 18:15:05 UTC on January 3, 2009.

**The Bitcoin Network Turns 10**

**B**itcoin's mark of the 10th anniversary of the block 0, however, was not confused with Bitcoin Whitewater's 10th birthday which was commemorated last year on October 31. *"Bitcoin: A peer-to-peer electronic cash system"* was released.

As earlier CCN reported, Seychelles-based bitcoin exchange, BitMEX, today marks the first page of the British newspaper The Times, with a statement titled *"Thanks Satoshi. We owe you one. Happy 10th Birthday, Bitcoin."*

**It was Clever...**

**T**he Ad Ownership of the BitMEX of Advertising in The Times is not coincidental, and on the day of the genesis block mines, Bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nagamoto has read a paper that reads that day: *"Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks."*

**P**articularly in the global financial crisis, which is the major financial institutions, especially in the United States and Europe. The title suggested the then Chancellor of the Treasury in the United Kingdom, Alistair Darling, for the second time to get out of British banks.

**I**n particular, the global financial crisis has inspired Nakamoto to develop an alternative currency, which is not satisfied by governments and does not require trust in a centralized institution. This was evident in the forum post published on February 11, 2009:

*The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that’s required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve.*

**Is History Repeating Itself?**

**I**ncidentally, in The Times ten days ago, gloomy financial news emerged, the same day the first page of BitMEX's announcement paper was unveiled. For example, the main headline concerns the student debt that expressed concerns that education loans could lead the world into another financial crisis, as sub-prime mortgages leading to the 2008-2009 financial crisis.

**A**dditionally, The Times also notes that Apple's economic weakness in China is leading to a slowdown in the world's economic growth after pioneering its guidance to Apple for the first quarter.
