I remember that I read that AMD had a breakthrough in their CPU architecture that left Intel years behind.
A couple of years later I talked with a dude whom I consider to be far from an expert, but he has some interest in gaming, and he said that Intel processors are better and that AMD skip more frames.
He showed me a simulation, but I think that it used stock motherboards with no external GPUs, which are not produced by either Intel or AMD, and are expected to be used by a real gamer in the real life scenario of that simulation (Some graphic doom-like shooter)
I am not a gamer and even I need an external GPU just to be able to watch vids at 720p or more, so the crudest stock motherboard graphical performance are not even of interest to me.
