Earlier this week, on Wednesday, the annual Sustainability Week event in Pokémon GO has started. I was a bit busy and didn't get to make a post about it until now. The event will last through April 25th at 8 pm local time. Make sure to check Niantic's Pokémon GO site for all the updates always. I will of course include the Event Field Research Tasks in my post. As we are in the Season of Alola, it was time for another Pokémon first discovered in the Alolan region to make its Pokémon GO debut. This time it's Oranguru, the Sage Pokémon. Here is the first one I encountered, and my Oranguru Pokédex registry.

Oranguru can't be Shiny yet, but Shiny Cherubi does make its debut during this event. Which means that Cherrim can now be Shiny too. I'm a bit unsure if the wild Cherrim can be Shiny. Next week Tuesday the Sunshine Form Cherrim will be featured in the Spotlight Hour, so we can try to find out then. The event features a Collection Challenge. You can see the required Pokémon to catch in this screenshot.

You can find Cherubi, Grimer, Trubbish and Grotle in the wild. To get Gloom and Weepinbell for the Collection Challenge you need to see if they get attracted to a Mossy Lure Module. Sewaddle and Nincada will also be more easily attracted to Mossy Lure Modules during the event. One free Mossy Lure Module can be obtained from a free Event Box in the Shop. I already passed by a Mossy Lure module before and managed to get a Weepinbell. But not Gloom yet, I could only stay for like 3-4 encounters to appear on that Lure module. I'm planning to sit down somewhere this weekend and activate my Mossy Lure Module if I haven't been to find a Gloom yet by then.
Event Field Research Tasks
Encounters: - Catch 5 Grass-type Pokémon: Turtwig ✨, Snivy ✨ OR Chespin - Walk 1 km: Cherubi ✨ - Walk 3 km: Phantump - Catch 3 Grimer: Trubbish ✨ Items/Mega Energy: - Catch 3 Trubbish: 1 Silver Pinap Berry - Power up Pokémon 5 times: 50 Venusaur Mega Energy OR 50 Abomasnow Mega Energy I believe that's the first time we can get 50 Mega Energy from a Field Research task. Usually they're 10 or 20 Mega Energy. So these are definitely interesting. I've got a bit above 1,000 for Abomasnow, not sure about Venusaur. But the extra will be great to just switch between Mega Evolve on those two and Beedrill a couple times to make more progress on the Mega Evolve medal. When looking for more Stardust, the wild Trubbish spawns from the event are great catches with their 750 Stardust per catch! Venusaur appears more frequently too and gives 500 Stardust, so quite decent. But of course they're also more difficult to catch 😅 I'll be trying to do some of the Mega Energy tasks and also the Cherubi ones. If it happens to be Shiny from a Field Research encounter there would be a great chance for it to be a 3-star!
