NIMBLEDOOK SCOUT

A pixel art animation of Nimbledook Scout. By looking at her items or equipments, she looks like an Hiker. Nimbledook Scout also has a Pickaxe on its backpack. Probably a tool for destroying rocks that is blocking her way. It can also be used for creating a safe passage for its teammates. With the animation I made, Nimbledook Scout looked more like a secret agent or spy that is tasked to get something precious. She is a good fit for this one. It has the right items and great skills to execute the task perfectly.

PROOF OF WORK

Here is a little background on how I created this animated pixel art using Pixilart web version. I started on creating the main outline of its body and head.

Then creating the outline of its legs and feet.

Creating the outline of its arms and hands. This is another new position compare to the characters that I usually do. You will know it because I usually create downward position of arms. But this time it has to be a lifted position since the Nimbledook Scout is using ropes. That will be used for climbing up rocks or mountains.

Adding details on its clothes and body.

Coloring the head, hair, and clothes of Nimbledook Scout. For its upper part, I tried to use the pallete of the character. While for the lower or the pants. I used a cooler tone which is blue. This makes her more adventurous and agile looking.

The gloves are already colored and also some its leather clothes.

Most of the clothing are now colored. I then proceed with the details for its head and face.

Adding details on its face. I used a same color tone for its eye brows to somehow match its hair. While for its eyes, I copied its blue eyes. Then for its lips I decided to add a little lipstick to make it more a girly vibe.

Our character is done, the shadows and shadings were also added. I will add the ropes later on before the main animation.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmU6PyhBDhPxR44CS14wrsJ1wmL9FMUA756ULpoQL7cQXz/image.png)

In this part, I am deciding if I will rotate the character a little bit. I tried to check it if their will be a compromise of its looks when rotated. The looks was a bit off, so I decided not to rotate it anymore. Just sticking with its main position.

Adding the ropes that I mentioned a while ago. I also added some details like few lines to make more like a rope.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmehyCLC454A5uXtw1BcAfFQjwiZEUWvhM6Yzw38opTueP/image.png)

Adding the background. Since it is a Nimbledook Scout who loves climbing and adventure. I made the background into a mountain and rocks. Fulfilling its main character.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmR7nYhTJ5WMe72dyDjMRywvbHm14TPo5EdtfGT1PYdvwy/image.png)

Adding some extra details for the background like this twinkle effect symbolizing as stars at night.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZoiPHyREVFXMt2zPa4uBmfsEueMHJbrifJrqjFwvHsjx/image.png)

After creating the background, I started on the animation. It looks like a simple animation but it is crucial on moving the character. I have to be precise on duplicating it per frame and not to get confused after it.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTpvfHvqXAviwjrmnw4QQHbLuL154cbFgqeS5omhFZa24/image.png)

Since the animation involves up and down. I have to manually reverse the animation. I do not know if the Pixilart web version have that option but I could not find it. Which is why I have to manually copy per frame and move them all in the latter part of the animation. This will reverse the animation of it achieving the up and down animation.
![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmSTF7iqRiU18fA4EpJMf6amLDx6BLy4Kuc1q11LWAjJ6t/image.png)

Here we can see it is just an up and down animation but the frames used were 56. It required more job to do the up and down animation. But it made the animation more complete and smooth instead of sticking with just going down animation. When I am creating this kind of animation, I am making my best to make it more smooth and has a good flow.
