Dignity in Suffering: The Interplay of Success and Struggle

Life in its vastness thrives on an endless demand for data, ideas, activities, etc. It rides on the infinite loop of our feelings, decisions, commitments, and responsibilities. At every point in our existence, there is something we could be doing, some choice we should be making, some thought we should be having; for the development of our character and individual growth. As the tiny details come together to solve the puzzle, each piece revealing layers of ourselves to us, we develop a sense of self and ruling mentality to guide us through our journey.

**The Law of Attraction**

Life is ruled by the mind. Our outlook and perception of life controls our choices, decisions and outcomes. Naturally, we are inclined towards hard work as has been prescribed as the recipe for success since the beginning of time.

_Grow up, get a nice education, work hard in school to secure good grades, get a job and work your way through hard work and dedication and, you just might be successful._

To be successful, one has to first believe in success, in themselves and in the parameters they have devised to achieve said success. The parameters are often determined by our circumstances and societal positioning. Some people believe they have to work hard to succeed, others believe they just have to work sufficiently or work smart. Naturally, those who don’t believe so much in hard work are often born lucky into an environment where everything is pretty much planned out for them. Whereas, a person who never had much to their name, would obviously have a different approach to work and careers.

**The struggle mentality**

Where I’m from, we call this the suffer-head mentality. It is the belief that everything has to be borne out of pain and suffering. It is etched into our society as a people to accept less and endure poor choices, treatments and services, with hope that it gets better. We are taught to believe that there is dignity in suffering, that it is much more rewarding to strive through pain and hardship. You would hear someone say that the 2k you worked hard for is worth more than the 50k that came easily to you. I’m sure they make sense, but that to me is nothing but romanticization of suffering and glorification of poverty.

Strong
is one word I tend to avoid when referring to my skills and abilities to maneuver through life. I do this as a part of my conscious revolution against the struggle mentality. There is no more dignity in suffering than in ease. Things that come easily to me could equally have been borne out of strife, and it wouldn’t be more impactful or deeper on that account.

People who have the struggle mindset often feel guilty when expending their fortunes. They feel triggered when they spend money on things beyond basic necessities. It stems from the trauma of not having, so even when they do, they still have to do a lot of mental calculations before they can let go of money.
It would take a conscious effort to break free from this mindset of lack and living a life of uncertainty.

**Tapping into Ease and Abundance**

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, the mind rules our world, and according to the law of attraction, what we believe and accept becomes our reality. When it comes to my finances, and practically every area of my life, I always tap into ease and abundance. I believe everything I need is already mine and the things I work towards will come to me. I believe my hard work pays off as easily as my soft work, I don’t have to suffer to make it. Life doesn’t have to put me through the most in order to reward me.

For me, there is dignity in hard work as there is in ease. There shouldn’t be a straight line between success and struggle, it is not okay that some have to suffer in order to succeed, however,
that can’t be everyone’s reality. Life doesn’t have to be tough to be meaningful. As for me and my household, it is the soft life through and through. Soft life, soft love, soft landing. Believe and manifest this for yourself.

Thank you for stopping by. ❤️
