Ritual Over Routine For Self Improvement
It feels like my life changed overnight, but actually it didn't. It was all the little drops of efforts, trials and errors combined that birthed what is now a regulated, balanced woman; she's so amazing.

It is 12:30 June 16th, 2025, and I would love to walk you through everything I have done since waking up at 9AM. Yes, I slept in. Did I? I went to bed at around 3AM so technically I didn't sleep in. I barely got enough sleep. I hope I can squeeze in a little nap before gym at 5PM. Okay, let's go.

Sing The Hu

The Hu is a staple Eckankar spiritual exercise. Hu is an ancient name of God, we sing it as a love song to open our heart to God's love. Chanting the Hu raises my vibration and brings me to a frequency of love, stillness and perfection. What better way to start my morning before I get out of bed.

I had a dream and upon wake, I tried to remember the dream but it slipped through my fingers like smoke. I felt uneasy because I really wanted to remember. As I sang the Hu, I tried force my consciousness to recall it but the inner simply told me to surrender and leave it alone. Which I did.

Stretch Stretch Stretch

Now this is one fun part of it. Not fun because it is easy but because I get to feel things in my body that are simply beyond me. I recently got into Hip opening exercises and the burn goes craaazzyyyyy. I cannot believe how much tension and trauma I have been holding my hips and it hurts to let them go, literally. But I also enjoy pushing myself, I like to lean into the pain to see just how far I can go.

As I gym girl I thought I understood pain and the reward of perseverance but this is just next level. It has been only three days but I feel brand new. I am also loving the satisfaction of being able to extend beyond a point I couldn't go the previous day. Let's see if I will be able to attempt a full split in two weeks. This morning during my session, my inner guide reminded me to be stretch out of love for my body and the art, not from a place of ego because I have nothing to prove.

Oral Care

Selfcare is something I have always lived for. Anything to keep me healthier and shinier and I'm all in. My OG oral care include:
- coconut oil pulling
- flossing
- brushing.
Then at night I swap the coconut oil for some good ole mouthwash and repeat the rest of the steps.
Oil pulling is not for weak, I'll tell you. Swishing a mixture of oil and saliva in your mouth for twenty minutes will have your jaws wishing they were on a different set of chins. But, a few headaches later and you'll be swishing away with ease. I lean into it as a mindful exercise while I read a book or something. Today I read Vagabonds by Eloghosa Osunde.

>Has anyone noticed that shoes basically spend their whole lives singing? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Clean Gym Shoes

I quickly cleaned both pairs of my gym shoes, I failed to do that over the weekend. Yeah, that's all.

Shower

Showers lately have become more than just washing my body but a ritual with the ever beautiful water that makes all things beautiful and flourish. Think of the plants, trees, earth, and all the wonderful ways that water revives, replenishes, and encourages growth, surely it does the same things to our bodies. I lathered up and scrubbed with my Dove bar soap and "African net sponge." I ran the shower and let it do it's thing. Blissful.

Breakfast

I had a late breakfast at around 11:30 and it was not light at all. I had semolina swallow and some delicious Egusi soup with a sweet piece of chicken in it. It was nice. Sadly, there are photos to show for it.

Write an Article

I settled in to start working for the day and though I would begin with a post for Hive. I will publish this later, but yeah. There goes the first half of my day.

Hasta La Vista. Baby. ๐Ÿ˜˜โ™ฅ๏ธ
