En estos días, he estado tratando de cambiar algunos hábitos alimenticios. Uno de los cambios que quiero hacer es evitar  el consumo de pan, pues últimamente lo estaba comiendo en exceso. No quiero justificarme, pero ¿cómo podía negarme a comer una buena rodaja de  pan de jamón en Navidad o el famoso pan de huevo en los desayunos de los días decembrinos? Pues, esos excesos causaron efecto y no me sentí muy bien. Por lo cual, tomé acciones para contrarrestar algunos malestares, y una de estas acciones fue incluir, en mi dieta, alimentos como la granola para  que me aportara sus beneficios, entre ellos vitaminas, minerales y mucha fibra. Así, de inmediato pensé en agregarla a mis yogures y frutas. Pero, tenía la duda de cuál comprar porque  la verdad es que no había visto ninguna que me gustara en el mercado. La última vez que compré, me encontré con unos  paqueticos de granola muy seca y con trozos de algunas semillas muy duros; otras,   estaban  muy grasosas y dulces y no me gustaron.

I don't want to justify myself, but how could I refuse to eat a good slice of ham bread at Christmas or the famous egg bread at breakfast during the holidays? Well, those excesses had an effect and I didn't feel very well. Therefore, I took action to counteract some discomforts, and one of these actions was to include in my diet, foods such as granola to provide me with its benefits, including vitamins, minerals and lots of fiber. So, I immediately thought of adding it to my yogurts and fruits. But, I had the doubt of which one to buy because the truth is that I had not seen any that I liked in the market. The last time I bought, I found some granola packets that were very dry and with pieces of some seeds that were very hard; others were very greasy and sweet and I didn't like them. 



Entonces, gracias a que la amiga @damarysvibra compartió una receta de granola casera me animé a buscar las semillas necesarias para comprarlas y hacer una granola en casa, según mis gustos. 


Se preguntarán los que hacen vida en @leofinance, pero ¿qué la pasa a @aurodivys? ¿se equivocó de comunidad? ¿De verdad nos va a compartir una receta de granola?

No, amigos, ¡no! Lo que quiero compartir con todos en esta comunidad, es una comparación de lo precios entre una granola casera y una buena granola del mercado porque, como es bien sabido, en Venezuela, la economía es una locura, una incertidumbre constante, los precios suben y suben todos los días; y muchas veces,  caemos en ese remolino de cosas imposibles de pasar, pero que aquí, sí pasan con mucha normalidad.

What I want to share with everyone in this community is a comparison of the prices between homemade granola and good granola from the market because, as is well known, in Venezuela, the economy is crazy, a constant uncertainty, prices go up and up every day; and many times, we fall into this whirlpool of impossible things to happen, but here, they do happen very normally.

Me fui al supermercado para comprar las semillas que me gustan y que quería ponerle a mi granola casera, ya me imaginaba lo rica que iba a quedar cuando le pusiera: maníes, semillas de merey, almendras, nueces, pasitas y avena. Hasta había pensando en endulzarla con papelón, tal cual como lo había hecho Damarys, pues este  ingrediente  ya lo tenía en casa. 

> I went to the supermarket to buy the seeds I liked and wanted to add to my homemade granola, I could already imagine how good it would be when I added: peanuts, cashew seeds, almonds, walnuts, raisins, and oats. I had even thought of sweetening it with paprika, as Damarys had done since I already had this ingredient at home.


En el supermercado, me fui directo al lugar donde puedo conseguir los frutos secos y escogí una cajita de almendras de $5, una de merey de $2.77, una de nueces de $3.51,  una de maní de $1.79 y la de pasitas de $2.25. Como ven los precios de los frutos secos están expresados en dólares, bueno, así están todos los productos en el país, solo que nuestros sueldos son en bolívares digitales que casi no tienen valor.

> At the supermarket, I went straight to the place where I can get the nuts and I chose a box of almonds for $5, a box of cashews for $2.77, a box of walnuts for $3.51, a box of peanuts for $1.79 and a box of raisins for $2.25. As you can see the prices of the dried fruits are expressed in dollars, well, so are all the products in the country, only that our salaries are in digital bolivars that have almost no value.


Esas cajitas que escogí tienen pocos gramos, y la suma me daba $15.32. Me pareció un poco costoso, considerado que faltaban algunos ingredientes, pero eos yo los tenía en casa. Con las cantidades de estas semillas, más la avena, creo que no hubiera podido preparar ni un kilo de granola.

> Those little boxes that I chose have only a few grams, and the sum gave me $15.32. It seemed a little expensive, considering that some ingredients were missing, but I had them at home. With the quantities of these seeds, plus the oats, I don't think I could have made even a kilo of granola.

Con todo eso en mi carrito de compras, seguí caminando entre los pasillos, buscando otras cosas que necesitaba. Y para mi sorpresa, habían llegado al supermercado unas bolsas de granola de la marca Quaker que es una marca reconocida en el país y que nos gusta mucho. Me detuve porque de inmediato me llamó la atención  el precio , marcaba $10.40. Tomé la bolsa y me di cuenta que contenía casi dos kilos de granola, exactamente 1.95 kg. Mi esposo y yo nos miramos, sacamos cuentas y pensamos que había que sumarle el gasto que significaba  preparar la granola. Así que nos convenía llevarla.

> With all that in my shopping cart, I continued walking through the aisles, looking for other things I needed. And to my surprise, some bags of Quaker brand granola had arrived at the supermarket, which is a well-known brand in the country and that we like a lot. I stopped because the price immediately caught my attention, it marked $10.40. I took the bag and realized that it contained almost two kilos of granola, exactly 1.95 kg. My husband and I looked at each other, did the math, and figured we had to add the cost of preparing the granola. So we decided to take it with us.


Sin pensarlo mucho, decidimos llevar esa granola, así ya la tendría lista para probar con mi yogurt o con las frutas de la merienda. Metí la bolsa de granola en el carrito y me fui a poner las semillas en su lugar. 

> Without thinking too much about it, we decided to bring that granola, so I would have it ready to try with my yogurt or fruit snack. I put the bag of granola in the cart and went to put the seeds in their place. 

Llegué a la casa feliz con mi paquete de granola y le mandé un mensaje a mi hija con una foto y le pedí  que analizara la tabla nutricional, pues, en la familia,  ella es la que está muy pendiente de los ingredientes y de todo lo demás. En cuanto lo leyó, me respondió:

 Se ve buena! Los dos primeros ingredientes son naturales, luego azúcar morena y más adelante aceite de canela y miel. 


> I came home happy with my package of granola and texted my daughter with a picture and asked her to analyze the nutritional table, because, in the family, she is the one who is very attentive to the ingredients and everything else. As soon as she read it, she replied:

> It looks good! The first two ingredients are natural, then brown sugar, and then cinnamon oil and honey. 



En conclusión, vemos la gran diferencia de los costos de esta granola comercial, en comparación con lo que me hubiera costado hacer una granola casera con los mismos ingredientes. Entonces, sí hicimos una buena compra desde todo punto de vista. Nos resultó mejor comprar la granola hecha que hacerla en casa.

> In conclusion, we see the big difference in the cost of this commercial granola, compared to what it would have cost me to make homemade granola with the same ingredients. So, we did make a good purchase from every point of view. We were better off buying the granola than making it at home.

Ahora bien, debo decirles que esta granola de Quaker está muy buena, les confieso que deliciosa. Ya la estoy disfrutando con frutas y yogurt, en las fotos se puede ver mi merienda de hoy: piña con topping de granola y té verde.

> Now, I must tell you that this Quaker granola is very good, I confess it is delicious. I am already enjoying it with fruits and yogurt, in the pictures you can see my snack today: pineapple with granola topping and green tea.
