It's an interesting world we live in, but we have to make do with what we're born into. I realized that as soon as I had to start paying the bills, cash is king. The first and foremost thing anybody should be thinking about is how to pay those bills at the end of each month and AVOID debt like the plague. Because as soon as you go into debt, the chains are put on you for quite a bit of time until you finally are able to get free after overpaying. Debt builds and many people are stuck in these ruts for years on end, with many losing hope of ever fully getting out as it constantly builds up. Money is NOT the key to happiness. Money won't bring you the girl of your dreams, it won't cure your cancer, it even won't help with your crippling anxiety. But you know what? It sure as hell will point you in the right way. Can't find a lifelong partner? Either pay someone to help you (an expert stylist alongside professional pickup advice) or attend the right events (Like marketing and business talk? Go to a networking event this weekend in your city, I'm sure you'll find plenty to get you started on the right path. Prefer concerts and live music festivals instead? No problemo! And you know, VIP tickets certainly don't make the experience any less fun.). Hate the leaky faucet or the loud fridge? You go out and buy a new one, or wait, even better! Hire some movers to get it with same day shipping over to your place. Feeling sad due to seasonal depression? Either pick up everything and move, or go on a 3 week vacation flying first class (or even private) to the land of your dreams. Money helps solve all the petty little problems so that you can focus on the REAL things in life. Want to change the world? Want to crush it in life and live fully to the best of it? Pay to have everything solved that bothers you, or at least try to upgrade as much as you can. I'd rather be so rich that I would rather pay for someone to tie my shoes than to waste time doing it myself, than being an expert in everything and yet still live in a cruddy apartment in the middle of a horrible dead-end part of town. Don't have money? This is where sacrifice comes in. As Gary V always says (or something along these lines): "You spend the next 12-24 months grinding your ass off to eat caviar for the rest of your life!". Currently I've only got enough money to survive for the next couple of months. What am I currently doing to improve my situation? I'm a 19 year old living on my own in a cheaper country (as I've moved due to the fact that you're able to save more money abroad if you're making it online) trying to live frugally currently. I'm not focusing on friends, going out, getting a girlfriend, you know.. doing the normal things. I'll have all the time in the world for that in 1-2 years. What does money lead to that DOES bring joy (if you're able to use it correctly)? Time. We all need more time. For everything. Time and money are just tools that can either be utilized for a lot of good, or they can be abused and you'll fall down a degenerative spiral. Your choice. I'm going back to grinding. See you there at the top!
