*** The Parkside Gayo Hotel in Takengon City, the capital of Central Aceh Regency, Indonesia, is one of my and many people's favorite hotels. The view from the hotel provides two unique choices: whether to enjoy the exoticism of Lake Lut Tawar or enjoy the elegance of the verdant mountains. I chose both. I have stayed at the Parkside Hotel countless times and never get bored with these two views. On a cool afternoon (the air in Takengon City is around 18 degrees Celsius and that is cooler than Lhokseumawe City which reaches 32 degrees), several journalists and I enjoyed the view from the top of the Parkside hotel in Takengon City, which is also known as Negeri Antara. *** *** The sun began to shine reddish like a golden ball whose light glowed on the surface of Lake Laut Tawar. This is the largest freshwater lake in Indonesia with an area of 70 square kilometers. Unfortunately, the reddish sunlight cannot be enjoyed in the #monomad photo appearance. We cannot feel the warmth of sunlight here. However, it was replaced with coolness which has become a healthy gift amidst recent climate change and global warming. A gift that should be grateful for because not everyone can enjoy it. *** *** Lake Lut Tawar looks exotic down there. He looked silent, as if he had an unsolved mystery. The presence of Lake Lut Tawar cannot be separated from the legends surrounding it. Apart from mystery and beauty and being a leading tourist destination in Central Aceh Regency, Lake Lut Tawar is a source of fresh water that never runs out. The people of Aceh should be grateful to have such extensive reserves of clean water. A big sin is that this gift is not cared for as lovingly as one would care for one's own child. *** From the top of the Parkside Hotel, nature provides many things humans need without demanding much. A message contained in it is that this gift must be preserved for the welfare of future children and grandchildren. The current generation must not inherit nature that is damaged and polluted by pollution for the next generation. We never imagine what life will be like for generations 50 years, 100 years and hundreds of years later. Our job is only to preserve it.[]
