The Scent of sea is so strong in Gampong (village) Kuta Krueng Kecamatan Samudera, Aceh Utara (Indonesia). The wind that blew hard was only able to shed the leaves and blow away the dust, but was not able to dissipate the heat that whacked, even though the day had begun to move towards evening. That's the weather lately, it's hard to guess. The morning was warm, but the afternoon was raining or vice versa.

The gate of the Tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah is still locked tightly. Apart from souvenir traders in the form of stone rings, there were no visitors there. Some cows are enjoying grazing. "That's how the gate is opened," complained Ramlan Yunus (30), a young man who often serves the visitors at the tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah. Ramlan was reluctant to be called a tomb guard or caretaker because he was only there to explain the history of the Samudera Pasai.

***People believe this is the tomb of King of Bakoy***

Compared to Sultan Malikussaleh's grave in Gampong Beuringen in the same sub-district, the Nahrisyah tomb complex is much broader and more majestic. The gravestone is made of white marble. Some parts have been cracked and patched with ordinary cement so it looks annoying. In addition to eating Nahrisyah, there is a meal of Sultan Zainal Abidin, _endatu_ (ancestor) of the former sultan of Pasai (or Pase commonly called the Acehnese).

Around him, there are many tombs, some of whose names are unknown. One of them, which is located under the foot of the tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah, is believed to be the tomb of Raja Bakoy, a former Nahrisyah husband who had been forced to marry his own daughter. According to research results, the tomb actually belonged to a woman named Siti Wasyira. "It reads on the headstone. But people already believe that it is the tomb of King Bakoy,” said Teungku Taqiyuddin who is actively researching the The Kingdom of Pase site.

Putri Nahrisyah or Malikah Nahrasiyah Rawangsa Khadiyu ruled from 1400 - 1427 AD or 801 - 831 Hijriyah who was the 10th leader or final leader of Samudra Pasai Kingdom. Together with her husband, Sultan Haydar Bahian Syah, she continued the reign of Samudra Pasai in a period of emptiness after being attacked by the Majapahit Kingdom.

According to history, when a rebellion was instigated by Raja Nakur, Sultan Haydar Bahian Syah died. Then Sultanah declared that those who succeeded in killing King Nakur would be appointed as her husband and jointly ordered the kingdom. A commander in chief (sea ruler), Ahmad Perma, came from an area called Bakoy. After killing Raja Nakur, he became the husband of Sultanah Nahrisyah and better known as Raja Bakoy.

When Sultanah was ill, before he died he handed over the ring to King Bakoy and advised the woman who was suitable to wear the ring may be his successor consort. Beginning King Bakoy looked for a woman who could fit wearing an empress's ring, but none of them matched. Until finally, the ring was worn by Madum Peria, who was none other than the biological son of King Bakoy.

The marriage was opposed by everyone, especially the scholars. However, Raja Bakoy, who was very confident in his consort's will, killed the ulemas in order to fulfill his desire to marry Madum Peria. Until finally, Madum Peria was rushed by her biological brother, Ibrahim Tapa, so that the forbidden marriage never materialized.

"The story has more myths than historical facts," Teungku Taqiyuddin continued. According to him, during the Dutch occupation, many books were produced by Dutch historians that were not in accordance with their historical value for political purposes. Like King Bakoy's tomb, which turned out to be a tomb of a woman.

The tombs of the rulers of Samudra Pasai Kingdom are all located in Geudong, Kecamatan Samudera, Aceh Utara. During this time, the tomb is visited by many local, national and foreign tourists, especially from Malaysia and Brunei who want to see the rest of the glory of Samudera Pasai.

It is rather difficult to reach the religious tourism location if it does not have a guide. The problem is there are no public transportation from Geudong City to the location of the tomb which is about 6 kilometers away. The choice is to rent cars and motorized rickshaws in Kota Geudongy.[]
