We've all had that time when we don't feel like doing anything. Everything seems drab and nothing seems to interest you. That, my friend is boredom. Boredom is a pretty common occurrence for me. I am someone who has a super active thought process a lot of the time so I find it easy to get bored when my brain isn't being stimulated. It's also why I find it hard to focus fully on one thing unless it is super important.

As someone who gets bored quite easily you can imagine I'd have a lot of ways to kill the boredom, and of course I do. I'll be sharing a few of them with you. 


When I am bored the first thing I like to do is listen to music. Music touches the soul, and it's a pretty conservative way to have fun. Playing my favorite music evokes some emotions, and usually when I'm feeling those emotions there's no way I can ever be bored. 


The next option is games. Games are one of the best ways to kill boredom. I'm naturally competitive in nature and I enjoy playing all types of games, especially if it's a multilayer. There's just something about winning multiplayer games that gives that rush of dopamine. I play chess, fifa, call of duty, and these tend to kick the boredom far far away. Although I'm also learning to play games in moderation as they can also become distractions if excessive. 



When I don't feel like playing games. I usually go online. There's various social media platforms I like to explore like, discord, Twitter, Hive, WhatsApp. Most times I find myself going to discord to chat with some of my friends. They're a really interesting bunch, so boredom tends to vanish when I am in their midst. Twitter has lots of interesting things, news, memes and banter, WhatsApp is an extension for those things, just shared by people close to me. Hive is where I learn new things and make new friends. I can't be bored when I'm on any of these social media. 

On the rare occasion that I'm still bored after doing all these things, then it's an indication I need something new. Usually this is the time I usually buy a new gadget, or something along that line. You can't be bored when you buy something new that is fascinating. Especially tech gadgets. 


Once in a blue moon I also go out with friends. That's another sure fire way I kill boredom. It's almost always a fun experience and the memories afterwards make it more worthwhile. Which could also aid future conversations and serve as boredom killers in the future. 

In the end getting bored is quite natural, and as weird as it may sound, actually quite important. Not getting bored at least a few times can lead to overstimulating, which isn't healthy. Boredom can also prompt a couple creative ideas.
