Today, I will be talking about tag abuse and how to avoid them. This will be narrowed down on the promo-steem tag. At the end of the video, I will be dropping a video tutorial I made some few months ago on how to use tags and where to find suiting tags for your posts.

Tags are fundamental and are a great determinant of who sees your post especially for those who are not following you. When someone follows you on steemit, your post will begin to appear under their feed and each time they refresh that, they'll see your posts in the order of timing.

Conversely, for those who don't follow you, there's no place for you to make your post visible to them than to use the tags (categories) that they are interested in. In one word; 
>under a tag is the best place to find you...

Tags are meant to be specific and related. That means, you have to use a tag that's inline with the content of tags. In a future post, I will be talking about types of tags and what some of them are meant for. Lastly, I will talk about some defects with the use of tags and possible solutions to these defects.

Briefly, let me talk about the promo-steem tag since I have been faced with some challenges while curating as an ambassador in terms of filtering posts that are becoming borderline spammy. The promo-steem tag is basically for contents that is encouraging a global STEEM (steemit) adoption. Such activities include;
* Actively promoting steemit with evidence.
* Encouraging users on the platform
* Bringing investors with evidence 

Those are a few, in a future post I will talk about more categories especially, those posts that are not promo-steem related. This is because; very soon drastic measures will be taken against spammers who use promo-steem.

So, I think it is thoughtful to do a post educating minnows especially. Besides, so do use promo-steem with no intention to spam but instead, because they don't know what tags are all about. Honesty, I was also confused when I started. I would call @kesolink and ask;
> "... my post is about... so what tags should I use?"

## PHASE 1:

At this stage, we teach some minnows at our offline classroom to help attain self-sustenance. These minnows will then work with us as a team, reproducing other minnows. Currently, we have just wrapped up with Phase 1. And Phase 2 which is more demanding kicked off already. We have already recorded a track which you’ll find @theminnowschool. We are also in the process of recording a next track but the negotiation is still ongoing.

## PHASE 2:

This basically is the core of the vision is to raise steem-backed entrepreneurs of young people. The method through which we execute the absolute idea goes as follows;

* SKILL ACQUISITION PROJECTS: where various skills will be taught to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs that thrive on voluntarism.
***
* THE MINNOW SCHOOL TALENT HUNT: we greatly hope to give minnows who are not really writers but have other gifts such as singing, painting, dancing, acting a platform to express themselves and get their creativity beyond their minds. Basically, we are giving these young people a voice and ultimately awaken the writer in them.
***
* THE MINNOW SCHOOL ART/MUSIC EXHIBITIONS: here talented young people will get to showcase their talents and the value they have to offer to the community. We will be sponsoring art projects and professional music careers will emerge with this.
