It is really calm before the storm
Yesterday was an important day in the history of blockchain where the community members fought for their freedom and a big group of people decided to fork out and move to the new blockchain. If you check my previous articles, you will know what happened and in my yesterday's article, I also did give a summary of the series of events that happened here from Feb 14th after the acquisition of Steemit Inc by Justin Sun.

Yesterday, the launch of hive blockchain created a lot of expectation and enthusiasm among many community members. We are still not sure how this is all going to come along. Some of the big stakeholders have mentioned that they are quitting from Steem and completely moving their assets and services to Hive blockchain. Some have mentioned that they will be sticking around both the platform for the time being and observe what happens and then switch over. Many people asked me what will be my decision on this. To answer that, I will most probably do a slow transition than moving in just one shot.

The reason is that my services currently are dependent on Steem-Engine and it looks like they haven't planned anything. I'm not even sure if they are even planning for something. People who invested a lot on Tribes and SE tokens have been questioning already. I understand that it is not mandatory that they should all be moving to Hive immediately. But I guess, they should at least create a HiveP token in my opinion and make an announcement post for the same. Staying calm is not going to help anyone.

## Calm before the storm

I said this reference because the game of dumping has not started yet. From yesterday onwards the exchanges have closed withdrawal as well as a deposit option on their interfaces. I don't think any of the exchanges have opened trading for Hive and Steem yet after the Chain split. I understand Hive because it is a new chain and it can take some time. But I don't understand why trading on Steem has been halted for now. Maybe the exchange is under a pressure to do so or they are planning something before the value reaches the bottom.

Yesterday, as soon as the chain split was made I saw the value of Steem dropping by almost 37% and reached around 3100 Satoshi. Though the withdrawal and deposit were disabled on the exchanges, I guess it was just internal trading where people bough steem or dumped their steem that was there in the exchanges. I don't know how many people made a profit because of that move. But to be fair that is definitely not a great move. Maybe someone tried to short during the chain split and the price ended up reaching 3000 Satoshi. Who knows.

Well thinking about the future, I guess when the exchanges open deposit and withdrawal of steem and Hive, I believe the dumping game will start and the real dumping will happen only then. People will see new value for both the coins and I'm definitely sure that we will not be seeing the price we see currently in the market. Let's wait and watch.
