I live in a different world now than the one into which I was born; time moves forward and *progress* occurs along the way. We want more, I think to the point of greed, and no matter how much we as individuals have it's never enough. Even when we have something that works it's not enough, we want the next model, the faster or smaller one, or just one of the same in another colour, and how much money is ever enough? Humanity says, *there is never enough money*. 

We are controlled by it, gripped by avarice..as if a human being's wealth and possessions *possess them,* rather than the other way around.

I don't know when that happened, possibly it has always been that way and now it's simply on a sharp rise, but I can remember when having something that worked, adequately did the job or served its purpose, was enough and people were content.

In my novice opinion, the world is struggling financially; you might not be, but many are, and it's changing people's thoughts and habits; however I also see many people refusing to change their ways, neglecting to limit themselves, and I wonder what the eventual cost of that will be. Avarice has a tight embrace and it seems humans hold on just as tightly to it; Does it make them feel better, to have more I mean. Does it make them happier? Possibly, but the constant pursuit of material things only brings disappointment when a person realises there's something newer and better on the market and thy don't have it.

Happiness, in my opinion, should be found in other ways and yes, we need to have things, make and spend money, however lasting happiness and true contentment in life must come from elsewhere, or so I believe it to be.
