<div class=text-justify> As people will always say, “Age is but a number”. You will only hear this statement when there is a situation in regards to age, either when two people are getting married and there is an age barrier, or when they are sharing properties and the youngest one has the smaller share. Either way I think when it comes to certain things Age is but a number. In Nigeria, the legal age when one stops being a minor and is now an adult is 18 years. At 18 years you have the right to do several things. The right to drive, the right to vote, and be voted for. At 18 years you are seen as an adult. Well, with the way things are, people become adults even before 18 years. These days you can’t even tell a child’s age by looking at them, they grow so fast. When I returned home and I saw my younger siblings I was so shocked they were so big but then they were just little by age. Looking at the legal age of being an adult which is 18 years, I think is not too soon or too late. 18 years, seems to be the perfect age to enter into adulthood and stop being a minor. Adulthood is a whole lot and I think we need time before going into it. I will say 18 years is a perfect age because from 16 years most people already feel like adults and also from 20 years is when most people are allowed to be adults. So with 18 being between 16 and 20, I think that is just the right age for someone to leave being a minor to embrace the world of being an Adult, where you get the freedom and the responsibilities. In the introduction of my post, I used the statement “Age is just a number”. When it comes to maturity and thinking, I feel age is just a number. Most people are almost 40 and then they do not behave mature at all. Their reasoning will make you wonder if this is an adult or a child. Being a lecturer, introduced me to a world with different people with different personalities and perspectives. I have someone who is older by age but then behaves as if he leaves his brain at home and comes to school. Then I have someone who happens to be the youngest in my class and she behaves so maturely. They will always say “What an old man will see sitting down even if you climb the highest mountain you can not see” Well, this is a word of wisdom but these days, you find out that what an old man can see sitting down, a young child can also see it and even see more. People are different, I think age is just a number when it comes to maturity. These days, you could see a child with a matured mentality. Most times we become matured at an early age either due to circumstances or even the things we read. All images used are mine except otherwise stated **Thanks for stopping by💕** **Cheers 🥂** </div>
