Greetings crypto enthusiasts and Hive explorers! Today, I want to share part of my journey on the Hive blockchain and why powering up Hive Power (HP) is a game-changer for us Hivers. But first, let me proudly announce that I've reached the significant threshold of **35,000 Hive Power**, and I couldn't be more excited and proud about it. Putting the work as much as I could, moving some funds, making some trades and harvesting Hive from multiple channels got me to this point which is simply motivating me more and more. I believe that for me 35k was some psychological threshold for some reason and I think moving upwards will be more easily from now. And my next threshold in sight is 40k, but I will take it slow to reach it there, without putting too much pressure on me for this purpose. I've got enough pressure from my work, so I don't need more around it. 😆

From way back in 2017 Hive quickly caught my attention for its vibrant community, decentralized nature, and innovative approach to content creation and curation rewarding its bloggers. And one of the core elements of the Hive blockchain and the thing that makes it unique is Hive Power, which essentially represents your influence and commitment to the platform, but also acts as a revenue stream from the rewards pool which is released slowly and with less and less inflation each year. Thus it is quite important to gather as much Hive Power now as possible, as at some point it will become a scarce resource.

With that in mind, let's see why it is good to power up Hive. Diving into that hopefully will get to the surface the benefits that I find in doing this!

### Enhanced influence
Powering up Hive gives me a bigger say in the Hive ecosystem. The upvotes carry more weight, allowing to support content creators I believe in and also help them earn more Hive tokens. In the same time I can vote upon the Witnesses and mostly influence those in Top 20 which take big decisions (like keeping the HBD Savings at 20% 😃).

### Influence on governance
With substantial Hive Power, I believe I can participate in the governance decisions through voting of DHF proposals and witnesses. Altogether these are some mechanisms that ultimately are shaping how this blockchain evolves.

### Curator rewards
The more Hive Power I have, the more curation rewards I can earn. By curating valuable content, I am not only supporting authors but also boosting my own Hive holdings as mostly 50% returns back to me. It's a win-win! And from this I try to upvote at least 10 authors per day with 100% when I don't have enough time on my plate, or more authors when the time allows it.

### Community engagement
Building Hive Power encourages me to engage with the Hive ecosystem in general and the Leo Finance community in special, but not limited to it. I found myself interacting with like-minded individuals, I've learned from others, and I believe I've forged connections that are rewarding - both in crypto, but also in knowledge and intellect.

### Investment for the future
I am thinking of Hive Power as a long-term investment in the Hive blockchain. As Hive continues to grow and evolve, the Hive Power will appreciate, increasing my overall wealth in the crypto world. And when the bull run hits and Hive reached new highs, I can slowly unstake and get some weekly base profits as an exit strategy. But nevertheless, I see my financial freedom with Hive and I will always turn back to it.

### Personal milestones
Reaching and surpassing specific Hive Power milestones, just like I have got to 35k, is an incredible source of pride and motivation. It simply fuels my writing endeavors and the will to do more on the Hive blockchain. And who knows, maybe someday I will be able to do that through my TBD project entitled [Finvicta](https://finvicta.com/).

I think that powering up my Hive tokens is not only a good financial move but also a great way to deepen my engagement and involvement within the Hive community.
