The Future is Now. This is being implemented this year full scale and it seems some companies are already dipping their toe in. This goes hand in hand with all of the alternative energy systems they have been putting in place. They stopped focusing on oil and were able to upgrade their smart grid infrastructure in a few years. Impressive and I can’t wait to see how this pans out. 

Government agencies need to take note:

Dubai is adopting this technology as “government agencies and businesses realize the need to have a shared, secured ledger that establishes accountability and transparency while streamlining business processes,” says Takreem El Tohamy, IBM’s general manager for the Middle East and Africa. “The key is to always keep business value at the forefront.”

I fully support my country and my government, but I hope they get their infrastructure for utilizing the blockchain together before we're left behind. The 2.5 million they gave out in grants is ridiculous. Don't ask for help, seek out the community. It's already going strong. Be transparent about your intentions and support local community efforts and ongoing research.
