[Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/uifjmSj4tBo)
I've started to notice that Canberrans can be a bit ragey when they are driving... of course, this is a vast overgeneralisation... but hey, doing that sort of thing makes for more convincing rambles! Anyway... there is a good deal of tail-gating going around, and definitely not adhering to speed limits, and crazy zig-zag driving to just get to that traffic light one car ahead. It is quite strange... and perhaps a bit of an allegory for life: You can struggle and kick up as much as a fuss as you want, and aim to "win".... but we all end up getting to that red light at the same time! Anyway, I do wonder what the point of going so heavy on the accelerator out of stops is... half the time, I see cars not manage to stay in their own lane whilst turning because they are just going too fast! So, today... I had a bit of a weird run-in with a little road-rager. I figure, there isn't really much difference between going at the limit or 10-20 kms over... you aren't going to get to where you are going with any real noticeable difference in time. I mean, if you are about 25% over the limit on average (and that is pretty fast...), you will only cut a 20 minute travel down by a handful of minutes at best... and if you were running late for something, well... that train was already set in motion by the time you left, and not by the running time of the travel! Leave too late, you will be late... However, it appears that that is a hard thing for people to accept... either start earlier, or accept that you are late.... through your own fault for leaving too late! Today, I was turning into a bit of a hill on a residential road (50 kms)... and I was a touch slow in climbing it (as in I was just using the accelerator normally, not like a crazed manic who needs to have their engine screaming revs!)... I did end up making the limit, but I had this bearded guy behind me screaming into his windscreen... and tailgating like crazy! As soon as the overtaking line was available, he raced past at about 80 kms... and screamed out the window and gave me the finger. ... for his splendid effort, I gave him a little clap and a smile. Which probably really irritated him... oops, was that on purpose from me? So, he suddenly dropped his speed to about 20km, and just sat at that speed... probably daring me to overtake so that he could block me... or to tailgate, so that he could slam on the brakes. I happily just sat 5 metres back and matched his slow speed... I was in no hurry. Plus, I was getting a great deal of enjoyment out of his very visible frustration! Then he stopped completely. So, I did too... and took out a book to start reading. I did keep an eye on his car as well... but did I mention that I had time to spare! It was absolutely hilarious... you could see him going positively apoplectic! ... so, after half a minute of this, he slammed his accelerator and raced off... leaving me quite bemused, and hopefully giving himself a bit of high blood pressure! I really don't understand these people... are they so hyped up in normal life that the feel the need to do things like this? It doesn't really bother me too much, but I do wonder how they are in the rest of their life... it appears to be a wholly unsustainable way to live, to not be able to find a calm and grounded sense that leads to patience. Ah well, I do find it vaguely amusing to troll these sorts of people though... little things amuse me, and if I can just hasten one person just a little step closer to exploding through sheer impatience, then I feel like I have had a productive day! https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQgdKBYt2WqqK4iNvDmFsZHUJfu9t62Hz1JxHAwJ7SyoB/thealliance_pagebreak.png I can also be found cross-posting at: [Hive](https://peakd.com/@bengy/posts) [Steem](https://steemit.com/@bengy/posts) [Publish0x](https://www.publish0x.com/@bengy) #
Handy Crypto Tools
[Ledger Nano S/X](https://www.ledger.com?r=7db72b914099): Keep your crypto safe and offline with the leading hardware wallet provider.
