In 2001 came Severance, and since then I've only been waiting for them to make a second opus but I guess it will never happen.

Why was it so good to me ?

1) A challenging but coherent combat system. Dark souls inherited some of it.

2) An ambiance unlike anything, the sound choices and design make for a great atmosphere. The overall artistic direction of the game make it a fantasy master piece.

3) A dismemberment system that works, wich doesn't make you wait and watch your character finish the animation like in the witcher 3.
