<center><b><em>Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!</em></b></center>

Painting your house used to be a tradition around here. When Christmas was near and the big bonus from work got into the accounts, people would set off shops to buy gallons of paint. What kind of paint? Well, that depended on how much you had in your account, where you lived and your taste in colours.

Around the house, we hadn't had painted anything since last year when we got onto the facade of the house and some parts of the exterior. My room, for example, hasn't had a new coat of paint since I was in Elementary School. Not that it needs it.

But then, the exterior is the crucial part. There's been a lot of damage from the sun and these last rains hadn't made it easier of the older coats. So, we had scheduled this part which holds part of my workshop and the freezer. Since we divided work in 3, we had it finished by 10 am. And of course, some black-and-white photos were due to capture some of the essence and longing for this tradition.

Pintar la casa era una tradición por estos lares. Siempre que se acercaba diciembre y los aguinaldos caían en las cuentas, las personas se lanzaban a las tiendas a comprar pintura. ¿Qué clase de pintura? Bueno, eso dependía de la cantidad que necesitaras, cuanto dinero tenías, dónde vivías y tus gustos en colores.

Aquí en la casa no se pintaba desde el año pasado cuando hicimos la fachada y otras partea del exterior. En mi cuarto, por ejemplo, no se ha cambiado la pintura desde que estaba en primaria. No es que lo necesite.

El exterior es una parte crucial. Todo el daño por el sol y ahora la lluvia puede convertirse en un problema si no se protege con pintura. Así que programamos esta pintada en el área de materiales del taller y el freezer. Como dividimos el trabajo entre 3, pudimos terminar a media mañana. Y claro, no podían faltar unas fotos en blanco y negro pra documentar el proceso y la añoranza de mejores días donde esta tradición alcanzaba para toda la casa.
