I don't even know you you can call it that. Anyways. This happened a few weeks ago. It is the first book edited by the new Costa Infinita editorial. This is a small family business trying to keep up something that keeps going down in the country, publishing books that aren't propaganda. The event was held in Casa Ramos Sucre and surprisingly, it was a full house. Of course, that has to do with the fact that the author is a well-known person in a plethora of things from radio to classes and around the city. His family, friends, former alumni, all were gathered to listen the ideas behind his book, process of writing and other aspects of his prose. The book is called "El Último Vuelo del Escarabajo Azul". It is a reference to Volkswagen cars, often called "beetles" (escarabajos) around the country. It is a book of chronicles that have been spiced up and translated from the spoken word to fit a written format. It recollects stories from Cumaná and towns in Sucre State. Inside it, characters and other secrets of these places and their peoples are revelead or hinted. To finish the event, the book was baptized with coffee. Something fitting since the authors comes from a town that is known for its coffee. And the last bit of it was a book signing. So he sold some of the books from day one and the lucky ones who bought have a signed copy. It was quite an experience!
