A **Meat Pie** or **Sausage Roll** is the absolute classic take-away food in Australia. You´ll find Pies in almost every if not every little town here. You can even buy frozen ones in the super markets.

We´ve found a very special Pie Shop in Lismore in the Byron Bay Hinterland. It´s called the **Limore Pie Cart** and it´s a old truck which was rebuilt into a food truck, just way cooler than the usual food truck.

Ein **Meat Pie** oder **Sausage Roll** ist das absolute klassische Essen zum Mitnehmen in Australien. Man findet Pies in fast jeder, wenn nicht jeder kleinen Stadt hier. Man kann sogar gefrorene in den Supermärkten kaufen.

In Lismore im Hinterland von Byron Bay haben wir einen ganz besonderen Pie Shop gefunden. Er heißt **Limore Pie Cart** und es ist ein alter LKW, der zu einem Imbisswagen umgebaut wurde, nur viel cooler als der übliche Imbisswagen den man so kennt.

Their variety of Pies and Sausage Rolls seems to be endless. They even have a Pie with a duck filling, what I´ve never seen or heard before.

Or if you have a sweet tooth you could order one of their sweet pies with apple for example.

Die Vielfalt an Pies und Sausage Rolls scheint endlos zu sein. Sie haben sogar einen Kuchen mit einer Entenfüllung, was ich noch nie gesehen oder gehört habe.

Oder wenn du eine Naschkatze bist, kannst du zum Beispiel einen der süßen Pies mit Apfel bestellen.

If you want a whole meal like we did, you can also order sides like mashed potatoes or mashed peas, for only 1,20 $ each portion and have it there.

We ordered the following

- 1 x Chunky Steak Pie with mashed potatoes
- 1 x Steak, Bacon and Cheese Pie with mashed peas

All together we paid 13,40$ which is around 8 Euro and pretty fair priced in my opinion. They were pretty yummy ( even if they don't necessarily look like this ) and you could taste that they´re fresh homemade and not just defrosted like in some other shops.

Wenn man eine ganze Mahlzeit wie wir möchte, kann man auch Beilagen wie Kartoffelpüree oder Erbsenpüree für nur 1,20 $ pro Portion dazu bestellen und vor Ort an einem der Tische essen.

Wir haben folgendes bestellt

- 1 x Chunky Steak Pie mit Kartoffelpüree
- 1 x Steak-, Speck- und Käse Pie mit Erbsenpüree

Insgesamt haben wir 13,40 $ bezahlt, was ungefähr 8 Euro sind und meiner Meinung nach ziemlich fair ist. Die Pies waren ziemlich lecker ( auch wenn sie nicht unbedingt so aussehen 😂)und man konnte schmecken, dass sie frisch hausgemacht und nicht nur wie in einigen anderen Geschäften aufgetaut sind.
