**Hello and good day awesome Hive friends! Hope your weekend went well. Few days ago, my friend wanted to have herself checked at Wellnessland which is a holistic center in Cebu City, Philippines. I also agreed to meet her there since we haven’t seen each other in months and we needed some catching up to do.** **This center focuses more on natural healing by following vegetarian diet, by using mainly plants for medication, and correcting unhealthy lifestyle. In their center, you can have consultation with a licensed doctor, eat at their vegan café, and buy products that are produced organically.** */ Ginger Brew - Organic Coffee - Organic Nuts - Body Ointment /* **While waiting for my friend’s check-up to be done, I checked around the merchandise that they were selling and looked for some vital information. At the entrance, there’s a tarp about “Miracle of Mind” which I learned is a meditation app that guides their users on meditation practices that can enhance mental well-being.** **There were also information regarding Campsite Offering where they offer exciting activities at certain campgrounds. In addition, you can stay at these organic farm camping sites and experience true farmstay. Participants can bring their own food too but they encouraged them to bring plant-based foods**. **Every month, they also offer Whole Foods Plant-Based Demo with a fee of about 7 USD per person. This is really helpful for patients and health enthusiasts who want to change their food choices and the method of preparing healthy meals**. **Another interesting activity is the Overnight Wellness Retreat. The site is at a farm and vegetarian meals are offered. Participants will learn more about meditation and organic farming. There are also lectures about wellness so for this one, there’s a registration fee.** **Inside the center, there is a vegan café called Vegan Island offering beverages and meals that are100% plant based and with organic ingredients. I loved how they also display the piano next to the harp signifying music therapy, as music also can reduce stress and improve mood**. **For today’s fresh organic vegetables, they have lettuce and string beans. A display of banana cake and carrot cake can also be seen. One can also visit this center and purchase organic merchandise and healthy substitute for seasonings and other kitchen needs. In particular, coco aminos which is substitute for the traditional soy sauce because they have lower sodium content. All those other bottled products are some food seasonings**. **They also sell some textured vegetable protein as meat substitute or meat replacement which are just simple to prepare and ready-to-cook.** **It is also interesting to see other products like this toothbrush that’s made from bamboo. The aim is to help farmers and our environment by reducing non-biodegradable waste and at the same time, taking our health into consideration. Organic ice cream with different flavors can also be seen as well as some frozen ready-to-cook plant-based viand**. **This is the space for their dine-in customers. I had already eaten at home before going out so I wasn’t hungry. My friend ordered vegan dumplings and mango smoothie. We just talked about anything; just catching up, talked about health, and her check-up with the Wellnessland doctor. She was also advised to take virgin coconut oil orally for bacterial infection so she bought VCO**. **Outside, there’s a traditional native hut perfect for hanging out. We transferred to this area while talking about life, relationships, and future plans. After an hour of chatting, my friend wanted to eat mango ice cream. It didn’t have the bright yellow color of mango that we are used to having, perhaps because food coloring was not used. The taste was not the usual taste of mango flavored commercialized ice creams. I suppose because the ingredients are natural or organic. This is still the better choice knowing that it's much healthier than the supermarket brands**. **After an hour, my partner arrived at this center. My friend also had to leave because she would work later that day. We also needed to go to the market to buy some supplies. Before leaving, my partner also wanted to see their products and got particularly interested with barley coffee**. **From this visit at the wellness center, I learned to focus on the food that we eat. Admittedly, it’s still challenging for me to have a complete vegetarian diet, but at least I can start by eating in moderation and incorporate more vegetables in my diet. Also, it’s better to buy organic products and patronize products or businesses that aim to help the environment. In addition, I also need to pay attention to my sleep schedule (I usually sleep past midnight) and avoid a sedentary lifestyle as much as possible. It’s a lifelong process indeed**. **That’s all for today’s sharing of experience and learnings. I hope I contributed something positive from this blog. Thank you as always for visiting my corner. I’m truly grateful for this community @asean.hive. See you in my next blog**! ***HIVEing for Good!*** @bettsmarie09 *Note: All Photo Collage Edited Through Canva*
