In this world many of us mistakenly thinks that when you sin and just pray for forgiveness God will forgive you. Yes it is true that when we sinned he forgive our sins and that one grant us a passage to his Kingdom not on this earth. Whatever sin we commit here on earth we pay for it own consequences.

This story  talking about also happened in the days of David, 2 Samuel 12:1-14, David was confronted by the prophet Nathan who was sent by God to David. When he went there he used a proverb to let King David come to his senses that what he did was sin and evil before God. He rebukes and pronounced God's judgement on him.

In effect David accepted that what he did was sin and evil before God, he stood up and prayed for forgiveness. This prayers let him closer to God once again but God intended punishment for David was carried on. He suffered the fruit of his sins and evil deeps. The child born to him and Bathsheba would die and at the same time God also granted him some mercies. He spares Him and told him he will not die as his consequence . The key to his mercy shown by God was as a result of showing repentance and he was confronted by the prophet.

Parishioners, never let us think that when we sinned and prayed we will just be forgiven but rather we will pay for our actions in view let us be mindful of what we do so we may have good consequences on us.
