What Wrong With Once Upon A Time's Reboot? (Spoilers ahead)
It's been several episodes and I'm not attached to the characters! What's wrong? Where is the reboot going wrong?

So we've got Rumple back, and Robert Carlyle always has amazing acting. Lana Parilla as Regina, or now Ronnie, has a new twist to her story and I'm liking it. No more Mrs Mayor, but bar owner, it suits her. Colin O'Donohue as Hook, even if it's the wishworld Hook, it's still Hook.

Our three main returning characters have compelling backstories to how they got where they are now and I am as attached to their new selves as I was to them in Storybrooke.

As for the new characters, I'm not feeling anything. I remember when the series began and I was rooting for Emma, going crazy over Snow and Charming's affair, willing them to remember who they were, desperate for them to remember. The show had moments that made me cry, moments that were eerie, and moments where I would burst out laughing out of nowhere. I still remember Snow telling Granny and the dwarves to learn to use a flashlight!

So what's wrong with these new characters? We have grown up Henry, not feeling what I did with kid Henry; we has his daughter, stoic and spirited, but I'm still not feeling it; Cinderalla and her roommate, really not feeling anything. Our new villains are a bit more compelling, in my opinion, and I am intrigued by them, but it's nothing compared to how I felt towards any of the villains we've seen before. My favourite villain has always been Peter Pan. But the dark one story with dark Emma and a bit before that and after that was excellent too.

Is it the acting? Is it the directing? The script? Something is missing. Yet there is **ONE** new character for whom I have emotion, sympathy, about whom I am eager to learn more, and that's Tilly a.k.a. Alice. She has enough mystery and enough quirkiness, yet enough tenderness, for me to become attached to her character. So *is* it the acting?

Something is definitely missing and it could be everything put together. When I watch the episodes now, I just want to see Hook, Rumple, Tilly or Regina on my screen, the other characters feel like fillers and I feel nothing for them.

Remember that I am a very empathetic person, highly sensitive, and when I watch a show, movie or play a video game, I FEEL so much for the characters. That I, who has so much "feels" for fictional beings, feel nothing for these new characters, after 4 or 5 episodes, is not the best thing for the show. It could pick up, don't get me wrong, especially now that we know Rumple is Rumple, "deary", but I'm still wishing for that random flyby from Pinocchio, or for Mulan to enter the scene and open a Marshal Arts school. I could see a Mulan and Tilly storyline. Of course, Mulan would technically be older now, but something could have happened to some of the characters for them to not age, and she could be one of them. Afterall, Regina hasn't aged a day.

Just, give us something to gnaw at eagerly while we await the next episode, other than hoping for less boredom in the story line. Give us something to sink our teeth into and salivate at the edge of our seats in each episode. Give us something, please, because I love watching Once Upon A Time, but I'm not loving watching most of these new characters.

How about you? What's your take away?
