<h1>What's New In Hive This Week Jan 29th 2023</h1>

I said in these weekly reports that I would go over what's new with hive each week. However as of late there doesn't seem to be just action and just a lot of talk and whispers on the backend of what is to come. Because of that it's been a little light so what I'm also going to include are a few of my goals and things I've noticed over the last week.

### What's New

For the most part it's same old same old right now. While games and applications have been getting some small quality of life changes there hasn't been any big release or major news out of any of the projects. It almost feels like that quite point just before everything takes off and I'm hoping we see a number of projects soon come to life. In particular the ones I'm waiting for are [LeoThreads](https://leofinance.io/threads) and LVL From Psyber X.

There's a number of other games but they feel like smaller projects or your classic always in alpha or beta like you see with some steam games lol So I wont be mentioning those just yet. However in theory these games seem solid it's just development time has been slow or I have so little time that I can't spend hours trying to figure out the game just yet.

### Goals

This year I have two major goals...

The first is 100,000 Hive powered up of which was last years goal but I never hit. However this year I'm currently on track and every day my hive needed per day has been reducing. At the moment I'm at 36.07 needed per day in order to hit the goal by end of year which is still high. I want to get this compressed down to hit it by summer. However a lot will change and adjust this year as the bull market kicks in, Splinterlands increases in asset value and if HBD stays at 20%.  They may call it passive income but there's really nothing passive about it. It still takes time to research, make adjustments etc.

The second goal is to hit 150,000 LEO powered up. This also depends on a few things such as how CUBDeFi performs (not so much Polycub) and in general the entire DEFI space. I have a feeling DeFi could see a major bull run this time around since it was a baby during the last bull run and plagued with rug pulls, hacks and more which I hope many of these that survived have found ways to mitigate that.

My other goal is to onboard more people in particular influencers I work with into hive and threads. However there's a lot needed in order for that to happen. Either revenue values need to pick up, partnerships signed or the space in terms of people using it needs to drastically increase. On the backend for now however the lists are building, the marketing funnels are in place and being tested and honestly I'm hoping LeoFinance offers up some type of affiliate system (which pretty much puts a benefactor on the posts on hive which come back to me) With work in that area I feel like I'll be able to build a decent amount of passive income as well.

[Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=bitcoinflood) is still one of my primary focuses. Prices have taken a hit, the business took a hit (but honestly most likely one that was needed in one way or another as it became way too bloated) and we have some yelling and screaming from people as new proposals hit. Overall though it's clear these changes are having a positive affect. In the last month my assets have increased in value by roughly 20%-25% and I only see that climbing with recent changes and what's still to come.
