0.000 HBDHanimar on testing
*** *** *** I recently ordered an old manual lens, it has arrived today. The lens is a Hanimar 1: 3.5 135mm M42 screw mount, frankly I don't even know why I bought it, probably because its price was slightly less than 5$! As soon as I was took the shipment, I had to test it immediately. I took the M42 - EOS adapter I put the lens in and I headed out and then slowly walked down the canal. I photographed everything that seemed interesting enough to me. My expectations were not too high, later as I was looking through the photos I saw that the photos were of decent quality, but nothing special! When it comes to lenses, it takes a little longer time than a short 30 minutes to get used to a new toy and to know the limits of its capabilities. I took some macro photos with extension tubes, but since I didn't bring a tripod with me, I had a lot of problems with myself until I somehow managed to take a few photos. Hand-shooting with this lens is quite difficult, but still doable. Like any old lens, it is made of high quality metal, it is a little heavier than some newer lens of the same rank, but this is by no means a major nuisance in working with it. The aperture ring rotates very smoothly, while the focus ring also works seamlessly, but still rotates a little harder, which is not so bad when I think a little better! While walking through the canal I came across an amazing scene ie. a scene that cannot be seen often. Specifically, I saw piles of Red Adirals butterflies gathered in the trees where the branches were cut off. The trees secreted some of their juices in these places, butterflies along with flies and ladybugs fed on this nectar. I made some photos of those moments. In the end, am I happy with the new lens, mostly yes, because if I look at the money invested ratio and what I got for it. I got one average good lens for a small amount of money. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** 25.11.2019.
