**Dead Rising is an open-world Zombie Survival beaten-up developed by Capcom. The game is also available for PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. You play as Frank West a budding photojournalist who heads to Colorado to cover a potential story. You get dropped off on the roof of the Willamette Moor where Frank begins his investigation.**

 **You have two main gameplay styles. Firstly, you have the cases or story missions that have to be completed to progress the overall narrative. If you don't complete these in time then the mystery can't be sold on that playthrough but that's not game over you can stay in the shopping mall kill zombies rescue survivors and enjoy a sandbox experience until the chopper comes to rescue you. one good thing is you never lose your character's progression even if you die so every time you start the game over you'll be a little bit stronger and better equipped to complete the cases and solve the investigation.**

 **But it does take quite a while to grind your way to a level where completion is possible. The game takes place within a large shopping mall and it's a real goldmine of weapons health items crazy lunatics. You have to kill survivors you've got a rescue and more zombies than you can shake a stick at. The freedom to choose your weapons is great and you can use chainsaws, baseball bats, golf clubs, or even lawnmowers to mow down the zombies. The control system could have been much better the amount of grinding you've got to do to complete. The game is a bit ridiculous and it can get quite repetitive after a while**

**Thankfully when you find a survivor you can arm them with weapons and form a little survival group to take out large groups of zombies but if one of them dies then they're gone for good. Being a photojournalist Frank can take photos of the action and get special bonus points which can help you level up. You can also play dress-up with Frank as you explore the mole you will find dress suits, sports goods, and all other types of outfits that just look totally ridiculous. It's really a tongue-in-cheek game it's got a really good sense of humor and it doesn't take itself seriously at all.**

 **Graphically considering the game is pretty old it still looks absolutely fine. The mall looks good, the character as a decent, and  I'd say overall I was impressed with how it looks even after all of these years. The voice acting is pretty cheesy but it is tongue-in-cheek so it's to be expected and but the sound effects, the music, it's all very nice some of the music is a bit of a homage to dawn of the dead the George Romero classic. Killing zombies with an endless supply of weapons is great fun. The game has a great sense of humor. It's very satisfying when you finally complete all the cases and it's just a really fun and enjoyable experience.**

## <center> ***Final Thoughts*** </center>

**Dead Rising is a quality sandbox a zombie experience. Surviving and killing zombies in the shopping mall never gets tiring and the cases are genuinely challenging to complete at first but in time once you level up everything is possible and it's fun and enjoyable throughout and the so many zombies, so many weapons, so many outfits,  it's very difficult to get bored but you might do after a while because you know it is a bit of a grind fest and it's far from perfect. The controls are a little bit weak but it isn't a massive problem. Personally, when it first came out I loved it there. I had it on the Dreamcast I think and took me a long time to complete this game first time around I thought it was one of the first games really that did the kind of grinding type gameplay and now it's very commonplace but it never really made the game not fun for me it's still fun and even after all this time I still think it's well worth checking out. You could probably pick this up for like under five dollars or under five pounds and it's definitely worth it if you've never tried.**
