There is always one pub/ bar in your home town that plays better music than all the rest of them. This one in particular has no TVs which makes the music all the more important. The pub is a essentially a rock bar and often plays the classics from the 60's , 70's , some 80's and 90's rock hits. I would often frequent it and hear great songs that I would have to shazam to know who played them. All the barmen must have a similar taste in music. It must be part of the interview process. But anyway it's proper music and the last time a pop song was played there, there was a sacking on the spot. My brother in law was home at the weekend and we were drinking in said bar. He asked me did I download their playlist yet and this was news to me. I did not know they had a playlist so I downloaded it immediately when I got home. I was thinking over the weekend that I have been on Spotify now since around 2008. Thats 15 dam years of paying their monthly subscription. It's a subscription I will never give up or change because all my playlists are on it and these are the things I have worked hard to create , edit and draft. I have my main playlist called "Starred" for some reason. Then I have my liked songs playlist and if they make the grade after a month then they end up in "Starred". I have my GYM playlist which is dance music and then I have my GYM rock playlist which is more high tempo alternative music. I have a "strange ones " playlist for the mad shit I like. A song covers playlist for the good song covers and many many more. So this is the reason I have stuck with Spotify. I have always liked it and if its not broken then don't fix it. 12.99 ain't too bad per month for all my music desires. I used to buy around 3 CD's back in the day every month anyway so I am saving if anything. So back to the playlist. The father in law went to London to see his sister and asked me to collect him at the airport which is an hour away. I was all podcasted out so it was time to lob the pub playlist on. The hour that I had in the car was sheer bliss. Volume sky high. Me trying to sing. Guitar solos blasting out. I was into hard rock like Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, The Doors in my 20's so this was a nice journey to reminisce on that music. So here is the very playlist ladies and gentlemen. Feel free to look it up and have a blast. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4iYVhXwRBiQpWtLL1P9zVJ?si=3c88354b44794097 The three songs that stood out for me on the playlist were. ### Jessica - The Allman Brothers Where did I hear that before. Top Gear that's where. This is a great guitar classic. No siging. Just a good aul guitar session. Pretty great though. The aul 70's piano solo thrown in as well. I suppose it's not too bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRE3Bv1goyI&ab_channel=AllmanBrothersonMV ### The Stooges - I wanna be Your Dog One of the first songs I learned on the guitar because it's easy and you look like you know what you are doing which is great as a beginner. This is another classic that went out of my mind for years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwmU343eBu0&ab_channel=SorajMusic ### The Insects - Never Met A Girl Like You Before. Everyone knows I am a sucker for covers and this was one that stuck out on the playlist. I love this song. Again an easy one of the guitar if you play especially that lovely little chorus. Now this cover may not be better than the original. It's striped down a bit. But I hope you enjoy it none the less. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pMfpR1XnXc&ab_channel=TheInsects-Topic Anyway if you have a couple of hours drive. Throw on this playlist. It's quality. There is no better taste in music than a good barman in my opinion. So that's my 3 tunes this week. There are better songs on this playlist by the way. Listening to 'The Sunshine of your Love" right now actually and that's better than all three but every second song is better than the last. Listening to Sunshine of your love there and noticed that the guitar solo is an old classic called Blue Moon which is the football song of Man chester City. Anyone notice it? I must be going mad. Ah they were all off their heads in them days. It was def blue moon he heard. Anyway my selections are better than my last weeks entry of the fecking Spice Girls so it's a win win this week. Back to the roots. Thanks to @ablaze again who is quitting his job to listen to music with the sheer amount of entries.
