This year, gold gained 25%, while Bitcoin only gained 11.4%. [source](https://bilello.blog/2025/the-week-in-charts-6-5-25) Surprised? Yes, me too. But on the other hand, it's also understandable. Due to the turmoil caused by Trump's tariff acrobatics, many investors have sought refuge in the safe haven of gold. Many central banks are also buying up gold on a massive scale. This increased demand naturally leads to a higher price. The market law of supply and demand is at work here once again. And Bitcoin? Everyone is waiting for the bull run after the halving. Will it come or not? I think there's still room for improvement, but since Bitcoin ETFs have also become investable for institutional investors, the landscape has changed. Hopes that the Trump administration would buy massive amounts of Bitcoin have vanished. There's no surge in demand from that side. And investors with billions of dollars in investments are more interested in a more stable price trend. Excessive fluctuations are not desired here. Therefore, there's certainly a lot of cash being used to maintain the price. Gold outperformed Bitcoin in the first five months of this year. But the year isn't even half over yet, and things are sure to change. In the long term (2011-2025, see image above), Bitcoin is the top performer. With an annual performance of over 140%, Bitcoin leaves all other asset classes far behind. In 11 of the last 15 years, Bitcoin has been the best-performing asset class. And Michael Sailor is firmly convinced that it will remain so for the next few years. If you look at the best of all Trump's laws, there's a lot to suggest that Bitcoin will continue to perform very well (large deficit and high debt). But I still wouldn't put all my eggs in the Bitcoin basket. A few gold coins, bullion or ETFs are fine too. --- >Please note the information below! I may be invested in the stocks mentioned.
