Dumbest Thing You Have Done for Love
When I first joined Hive earlier this year, @tripode had a 30 Days Blogging Challenge that I downloaded and have been holding onto for the whole year, waiting for the best time to use it. Now seems as good a time as any... The first day is:
# Dumbest thing you have done for love. Explain with details.
This is funny...to me.

When I was 18, I lived in Orlando, Florida. I worked for "The Rat" 🤣...
While technically it was an internship, it was really just cheap labor for the guy with the big ears. The way it works out, Disney puts their college interns into a housing complex called, "Vista Way." You pay about $60/paycheck (at least it was about that back then) while making $4.80/hour, for one bed in a 3 bedroom apartment where 6 people live. There are 4 of these apartments per floor and 3 floors. The top floor only had 4 people per apartment. In total, that's 64 people per building x 36 buildings if memory serves. That's 2304 college students at full capacity (which it was almost always at full capacity). That's a lot of hormone raging 18-25 year old's. You could imagine the parties...I remember them...and I digress...

There was a gal I met who I thought was the hottest thing around, so I tried to court her as any young guy at 18 would do...so what did I do? I broke into her apartment while she was working and left her a hibiscus flower (her favorite) and a note by her bed. Turns out...that wasn't the brightest idea. *I'd love to embellish the story to say* I got arrested or that **when I broke in there were 6 women dancing around in the nude**, 🤣 or a reenactment of a Monty Python skit with naughty nuns or something like that, but none of that happened...*ever in my life*, I might add LOL. Nope, she didn't think it was that great that a guy had broken into her house while she was gone and neither did her roommates.

we still went on a few dates afterward, both in Orlando and in southern California when we both returned from our internships.

That was probably the dumbest thing, though I did also go to a university out of state so that I could be with a pen pal, to find out a couple weeks into my classes starting that she was just engaged to get married...I finished the semester anyway, and fortunately, it was a fairly cheap university to attend, but still...that was pretty dumb.

What's the dumbest thing you've done for love? You can make your own post and then comment below with the link to your post. Then follow me so you can see my daily posts in December. I'm going to try and get one of these up each day in December for the whole month to get that stinking badge! lol
