B&W PHOTO CONTEST - The Palace bridge (Entry 2)
Hi! This is my second entry for the B&W PHOTO CONTEST of this week.

There is one very important tourist attraction that every tourist visiting St. Petersburg should visit. This city is built by the river Neva. It is located on both sides along the river. The river is very wide and it is navigable by it. In the period from spring to autumn, when the river is not covered with ice, at night through the whole city ships sail that go to the Gulf of Finland or pass from it to the mainland.

On the river in the city there are several bridges that do not allow ships to pass because of their height. Bridges are designed so that they can be divorced for the passage of ships. Bridging is carried out twice a night. When bridges are divorced, you can not drive by car to the other side of the river. In such cases, people have to wait until the bridges are reduced.

The most beautiful of such bridges is the Palace Bridge.

This bridge is so called because it is located next to the Winter Palace, in which the emperors and kings of the Russian Empire lived.

Last summer I managed to capture this bridge during a night walk.
