2017 was a good year for GPU manufacturers such as AMD and Nvidia. The popularity of cryptocurrency mining saw demand for GPUs skyrocket. There was a reported $776 million worth of GPUs that miners purchased in 2017.

With limited supply, Nvidia tended to favour gamers over cryptocurrency miners. Demand from miners is less stable than gamers or other industries that utilize GPUs, and a lot depends on if the hype for cryptocurrencies continues.

Walmart is filing a patent that seeks to use blockchain tech to perfect a smarter package delivery tracking system. Walmart explains in the filing that online shopping has created shipping challenges for retailers, particularly with regard to perishable products requiring temperature control, thus necessitating further innovation.

The application states that the blockchain component will be encrypted into the device, and will have "key addresses along the chain of [the package's] custody, including hashing with a seller private key address, a courier private key address and a buyer private key address."

This seems similar to other tokens in the space such as Vechain and Waltonchain.
