----------

It's been quite a while since I wrote the first post in this series. I have literally pages and pages of crypto bookmarks that I have gathered over the years. It has become a chore to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list to access my most recent bookmarks, so I thought it would be a good idea to clean them out.

I think we can all agree that many of the projects aren't even around anymore or if they are, it's not something that really needs to be bookmarked. It has been fun going through them and checking out what used to grab my attention versus what does today.

I have to laugh at some of the things I was bookmarking back then thinking it was going to be my next moon shot or the service that made everything fall into place for me.

I'm going to apologize right now if there is some overlap in this post and my past post. I honestly don't remember what I covered there and what I didn't I am willing to guess that you probably don't remember either, so here we go!

## Carmel

The first bookmark on my list actually led to a dead page. I had to laugh when I found that 404 error staring me in the face. The project is called [Carmel](https://carmel.io) and it is actually still kicking around out there. It was just the tokens page that I was linked to that is gone.

It's interesting to note that the Carmel project now is not what it was when I first bookmarked it. Is seem to remember it was going to be a platform based on learning skills and earning cryptocurrency for learning said skills. While that may still be a piece of it, that doesn't seem to be the heart of what they are trying to do these days.

In all honesty, the web page is quite vague and knowing now what I didn't know then, I likely would have never bookmarked this page!

## EasyDex

It would seem that even back at the beginning of my crypto journey, decentralized exchanges were on my radar. Unfortunately, EasyDex appears to no longer be around. When I follow the link in my bookmarks, I am getting an error that the site can't be reached. I'm not even going to bother linking to it for you because you will likely get the same results.

## SteemWorld

I hate to even mention this site on here. Wasn't it started by one of the "wolf" guys or something like that? Maybe I am thinking of a different platform. [SteemWorld](https://steemworld.org/) was the front runner of our own hivetats.io site that we have come to know and love.

Apparently somehow, I still have 27.63 SP still floating around out there in my account. I haven't logged into it in years. It should be noted that my reputation was 71.004 at the time. Given I am currently at 77.58 that should give you an idea of how hard it is to grow your rep at the higher levels.

Good riddance I say. A lot of people feel the same as there has been a concerted effort lately by many accounts not to support users who still post on that other platform.

## Stishit

I had a link to a page that told you how to earn [Stishit](https://stishit.net/) credits. That page appears to be dead and likewise, the main Stishit domain seems to be dead as well. "The site can't be reached". That familiar error that many crypto projects end up turning to.

I think Stishit was another social media platform. I honestly don't remember. It's gone now, that's all that matters. I don't think I can delete this one from my bookmarks fast enough!

## BOID

Believe it or not, [BOID](https://app.boid.com/) is still kicking around. They are in the process of moving from the EOS blockchain to the TELOS chain. They still have a focus on being the social supercomputer, but they have also expanded out into a game and NFT platform. I still hold a ton of BOID tokens, so I hope one day they get a bit more focus and actually take us token holders in a good direction.

We will see though.

## Whaleshares

Remember Whaleshares? It was another social media platform and apparently it is still out there on the web and it is still in Beta mode believe it or not. A long time ago I was interested in learning about Bitshares, Dan Larimer's front runner of STEEM, EOS, and whatever he is working on now. [I linked to this article](https://whaleshares.io/@funkit/the-total-noobs-guide-to-bitshares) that was supposed to teach me everything I needed to know about Bitshares.

It didn't help, because not only do I still not have a Bitshares account, I'm not sure if I would want one even if I could get setup with one.

Do you have a Bitshares account? Do you still use it?

## DLike

Ah, who can forget [DLike](https://dlike.io/), it was the platform we liked to hate. It was so controversial when it came out. I am actually shocked to see they are still up and running. If you think the content police are bad today, imagine what it was like when there was a platform on the blockchain that encouraged you to share articles that had already been written by other people.

I will admit I used DLike. I would usually write a 500 word post giving my thoughts on the article I shared though. Many people would just share the article and that was it. In fact, if you visit the site today, you will likely see much of the same behavior.

I think I had something like 100K DLike tokens before I finally cashed out and called it quits. It was a fiasco for sure, but I will always remember it fondly for being the dumpster fire it was. If there had been more community oversight and community commitment, it maybe could have been cool. At this point, let's just call it the cash grab that it was. I'm sure they did quite well with that big delegation they got from Steemit INC.

I'm going to leave you there for today as this is getting quite long. Don't worry though, I haven't even scratched the surface of old crypto bookmarks I plan on sharing with you!

Until next time!
