As a lifelong role playing game fan, I am more than familiar with "the grind".  If you ever played the original NES version of Final Fantasy, you are likely familiar with the map above.  I can't tell you how many hours I spent at the tip of the southern continent grinding experience levels.

Constantly saving and hitting the reset button when a fight didn't exactly go my way.  If you got lucky and came up against a lone frost wolf, giant, or zombull you were golden, expecting to gain at least three or four levels at a time.

Metal slimes in Dragon warrior, races to earn the golden chocobo in Final Fantasy VII, faction attunement in World of Warcraft, paragon levels in Diablo III, merits in Splinterlands, you name it, I have likely done the grind for it.

The same is true with my Hive account.  I was just thinking the other day I feel like I have been stuck in this 40K rut for more than a year.  I've had my eye on 50K HP for quite a while now and no matter how much closer I get to it, it still feels a million miles away.

I'd like to believe that once I finally do hit 50K the path to 60K will be quicker, but I know that isn't the case.  I know it is likely going to be twice as long as the road to 50K.  Unless we have some insane bull run and Hive jumps back up to $3 of course.

#### I know it's partly my own fault

If I hadn't been pushing HBD into my savings account so aggressively, I would likely be past 50K by now.  I'm working on that.  I've been making a concerted effort to grow my Hive account.  It probably seems like a pipe dream, but I would really like to see my account hovering near 100K HP by the end of the year.

I think with a little luck it is definitely possible.

I'm not going to call it a goal though.  I know it is a tall order and putting that pressure on myself isn't a good plan.  I'll hit it one day.

I'm using this February HPUD to push me a little closer to that goal.

## Today I powered up 600 HP towards my goal of ultimately having 100K HP staked.

That equals a full month of scraping and scrounging every extra HIVE I could find and saving it until today to power up.  

I've never really dreaded grinding the way some people do.  I think maybe the repetition or familiarity of doing something over and over again is likely therapeutic for me. I used to say that I should have worked on an assembly line because seem to excel at doing the same thing over and over and over again.

Maybe in another life...

In this one, I'm all in on Hive and grinding away to earn that next level.  It's slow, it's frustrating at times, and it takes a lot of work and dedication, but I have come to love the grind and the people on this journey with me.
