Hi, <div class="text-justify"> In this introductory post I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself, where I'm coming from and what kind of content you can expect from me. I was born in Helsinki, Finland to a working class family. We were living in a suburbs located just next to the central park of Helsinki. Childhood summers were long and warm and because of the amount of daylight they seemed be endless. We played football until our parents had to drag us in when it was way past midnight. On rainy days we played Nintendo or computer games. We stole and borrowed violent action and horror movies. I saw the uncut version of **Predator** when I was 9. Boys listened to **Guns N' Roses** and **NWA**, while gilrs listened to **New Kids On the Block**. We did so many pranks and annoyed older people in general. *** *All tomorrows parties* *** I wasn't good at school but managed to get through it with some average degrees. When I was 16 I saw **Bryan Singer's** film *The Usual Suspects*. It really got to me and from that instance I decided that this is what I wanted to do. Make movies. Before I would become the next *Tarantino* I had to do my time in the army. I wasn't really feeling that but it's a finnish thing and also pretty much mandatory. I was trained as a sniper, which to my surprise, I quite enjoyed. Training was tough but at the same time it felt meaningful. I also learned to pop a balloon from the distance of almost 600 meters. *** *When I was in the army* *** After the military service I applied to a film school and got accepted at the second try. We watched a lot of **Andrei Tarkovski** films, studied other arts and made crappy short films. There were some many parties. Everywhere you went you could hear the **Arcade Fire**, see the pre-hipsters in costumes and feel the "cool" vibe. I felt like being in a **Bret Easton Ellis** book. Back in those days I also started to develop a drinking habit. We were shooting this documentary film in Russia and I was drunk the whole time. Got some great footage though. Eventually I did graduate from the film school but never actually worked in the industry. Instead I found myself as a technician at this Helsinki based musical theater. *** *After three weeks working in Kazan, Russia* *** That was my stepping stone to the event industry in which I worked for over 10 years as video content mixer. I got to travel all across Finland and Europe and do some pretty impressive shows. Days were long, sometimes very stressful and I hadn't given up on drinking. Four years ago I decided it was time to do something about it and so I went to rehab. After that I still managed to hold on to my job but had to come up with something to replace that past time in the bars. I started learning coding and was planning to work on this mobile app. During the time spent on the internet I stumbled upon Bitcoin. Coding had to go and there was no turning back when I got totally sucked into the crypto space. It was at the time when Covid-19 was really starting to outbreak in Europe. I was in this shopping mall trying to find a gift to my girlfriend. It's by the way horrible in a crowded shopping mall. Anyway, from one of my mobile apps I saw that BTC was really coming down hard. I ran back home and immediately sold everything I got. I cannot remember how low it sank but perhaps it was 3K, 5K? Nevertheless I thought it was dead. The biggest mistake I made was not to buy back at those lower levels. Eventually I did buy back but then it was already way above 10k. *** *Film school days and nights* *** Since that day, with a valuable lesson learned, I have been all around the crypto space. I've won some and lost some. Trying to learn from every mistake I've made. I have lost jobs, friends and girlfriends to drinking but now found something different and meaningful. It's interesting how we just drift through this life. I have now moved from centralized platforms to decentralized protocols. **Defi** will definitely be something I'll focus on here on Hive. I'm also really into **Gamefi** and will be covering that area in my future posts - **Splinterlands** especially. All in all, you guys can expect some helpful, honest and quality posts from me. Even though I never became a film director I still love movies and I'm pretty sure I'm going to write about that topic too. Not to mention music. I wish I'd seen **David Bowie** perform live, or **Pink Floyd**. But right now I'm listening to 80's retro synthwave... I find it strangely relaxing when I'm working on my laptop. I don't quite remember how I found out about Hive ecosystem. No one really introduced it to me so it must have been **Splinterlands**, Telegram groups or some other platform that got me here. Actually I joined in January 2021 but for some weird reason didn't start blogging at that time. Now I'm really excited to be here and looking forward to connecting with like minded people. I had already posted couple of articles here on Hive when someone kindly pointed out that I hadn't done my introductory post. So here it is, I hope you enjoyed reading it! *** My blog: [@brando28](https://peakd.com/@brando28) </div>
