But as explained by Bro.Eli , it seems as if most people struggle at this because in as much as they try to please God , it seems as if something always pulls them back into the old life of sin. The preacher was kind enough to tell us the secret to overcoming this , if we truly want to overcome sin , we need more than human effort , we need prayer, a determined heart , and then the power of the Holy spirit. in the book of Proverbs 16:9 , we are reminded that in as much as we plan , that only God has the ability to guide our steps.
