Homemade Sangria
Hi Friends,

With the weather being a bit warm my wife and I decided we needed a cool and fresh drink to enjoy last weekend so we settled on... Sangria!

I like many types of adult beverages in moderation, and it had been a while since we had sangria so we found a recipe and went for it... here was the final product:

This sangria seemed stronger than most and it was great. It was from a website named Cookie + Kate and almost seemed like brandy spiked wine. Here were the ingredients and here is the link:

INGREDIENTS

1 bottle of affordable Garnacha (also called Grenache) or Pinot Noir or other fruity low-tannin red wine, chilled
1 large orange
1 cup thinly sliced seasonal fruit (I like Granny Smith apple or pear, strawberries, peaches or nectarines, pineapple or a combination)
1 small lemon, sliced into thin rounds
½ cup brandy
1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup*, to taste
Ice, for serving
A great way to enjoy the weekend even more! Do you like sangria?

Thanks for coming by,
Brian
