Hi Friends, Today was a national holiday, Martin Luther King Jr’s Day, so I had the day off of work! Jacob and I have been itching to do some kayak fishing so that seemed like a great idea for the holiday. We went down to one of our favorite local harbors and got there around 7:45 in the morning. We fished and played on the beach in the sand until about 12:45 before calling it a day and going out to a hamburger lunch. We had a great day on the water - I lost count of the fish but I think it was around 15 that we caught. Most were fairly large smelt, but we also caught a could of different bass species - spotted bay bass and calico bass. The action was pretty consistent and Jacob had a great time and caught many fish on his own!
