I think maybe they just don't have the responsibility to take care of themselves, so they have to force someone to provide them with a safety net.  When I talk about free markets and how they work people usually say no country has ever had free markets, so I say you are right their has never been a truly free nation. Where the people can do what they want so long as they do not harm others, this means no taxes. If we can work at getting the United States back on the track of freedom and prosperity as you can't prosper if your not free, as the Mises article will show.
