**Lucky Life**
***Have you ever considered yourself lucky? Write about a time or event in your life when you felt that luck or chance played a role in obtaining an advantageous result. What was the situation and the result and why do you consider that luck was decisive in it?***

On many occasions in my life, I have been lucky and fortunate, but undoubtedly there was an event in my life, in which luck, God first of all, had a determining role in my situation and that had an impact on the fact that today I am telling you the story and how grateful I am to God, life and luck.


In 2017, on December 21, I was at home with my children. That morning I was in the middle of cooking, I was preparing lunch, I remember it was a delicious chicken with vegetables, rice and banana. That morning I felt tired, exhausted and I wanted to finish cooking to lie down for a while; my husband is a fireman and in those days he was on duty and that day he was on his usual duty, my oldest daughter was also at work; so I was alone with my two younger children....



I was finishing cooking, when I felt a dizziness that made me stagger, I remember that I held on to the kitchen table, but without realizing it I fell to the floor, in the middle of it all I was aware of what was happening to me; I felt incredulous with myself because I could not believe that I had just fallen to the floor, I did not understand what was happening to me. I tried to get up, but my body did not respond to me, although my mind was alert and demanded to get up, but my body remained immobile?


At that moment, I understood that something was happening to me and that it was not good; I thought, I have to call my husband, but for that I had to locate my phone, fortunately I was in the habit of placing my cell phone close to where I was and it was on the kitchen table. As I could I managed to take it, I don't know how long it took me, but it was hard to take it in my hands; after that I tried to dial my husband, but I couldn't do it, I was thinking about what I wanted to do, but my hands were doing other things, I was not coordinating...

I remember, I took a breath, I tried to calm down, I was already scared, but I reflected for my children who were still small and I did not want to scare them, so after many attempts, I managed to dial him and talk to him or so I supposed. In those moments I felt like I was on cloud nine and so I spoke to my husband, slowly, somewhat alarmed, I told him: "honey, I fell and I don't know how", he was alarmed and at once he came home....


In the meantime, I got my period in a rather surprising way, I was expecting it in those days, but it came early, from then on there were exams, tests, visits to the neurologist and after all these tests it was determined that I had suffered an ischemic stroke, something delicate. Because of the Christmas holidays it was difficult to find a neurologist to see me with the urgency of the case; however, it was obtained and one close to the family who was usually on vacation at that time....


I was able to have the special examinations done with the urgency of the case, when usually here in my country medical matters are almost paralyzed at that time and even more so that year when the country's situation was especially critical, in all areas, especially in health, and nevertheless, everything was done before December 24. By that day I already had a medical opinion of what I had, a timely treatment and for having acted quickly I was in control, in the midst of the circumstances we were facing.


I was under medical surveillance, but at home, with my family, in absolute rest, but well. The doctor told my husband that I had been very lucky, because of the date on which this happened to me and because everything was achieved for my good in a few hours, medical attention, an accurate medical opinion and quick and effective treatment, which is crucial when these events happen to people, and that the arrival of my period had helped me a lot to control the flow of blood through my system and that prevented worse circumstances, said my treating doctor.


As I recovered, we all realized how lucky and blessed I had been to be able to get out of that eventuality. But personally, I think that I was not needed on the other side and I thank God for another opportunity, I was very happy that year to tell my loved ones Happy New Year, and to be able to hug them, to be with them. Every day, when I open my eyes, I give thanks for that, for being able to be, to share, to love and to breathe in a new day, I think there is no better luck and blessing than that!
