The mistiness of the room couldn't allow Danis move more than an inch. He kept waving his hands over his face like someone fending off a fly. He moved over to the left as he heard the faint cough of someone. He stumbled over the legs of the person and fell on the sofa, which he didn't know was there. On getting up he saw his brother's face.
"Davis" he managed to call as the smoke was pushing its way down his throat.

Davis seemed  unmoved and continued with the wired pipe on he suckled at intervals, like a baby, refusing to be fed. He didn't say a word to Danis who was now scrambling for the windows. The smoke rushed out like piglets released from their pens. Danis now with improved vision pulled the shisha pot, and it's pipe looking like an umbilical cord left Davis' hands. He didn't have the will to resist and just fell back to the warm embrace of the sofa.

Back when Danis and Davis where in highschool, Davis got into a fight with a classmate nicknamed Big-Joe.  He had snatched Big-Joes pencil during a class and used it. Big-Joe went straight for his hair and dragged him like a lion pouncing on its prey. Danis had to come in to help, as he was the bigger of them even to the size of Big-Joe. Davis enjoyed living under his brother's shadow, so he continued making trouble and no body could touch him.

After highschool, Davis joined his brother Danis in engineering. He felt safe taking lectures in the same hall as Danis. 
"They're inseparable" Aunt Maggy said to her friend, as Davis joined his brother on a bike when they were home for Christmas. Aunt Maggy had  been the one taking care of them since they were kids. It was the best she could do for her brother's kids. As no one wanted to take in orphans. They would've been left for child support.

Danis' Job with an engineering firm on year after they graduated didn't come as a surprise to Aunt Maggy. She smiled her wide smile that looked like she had an extended jaw. Davis continued getting into trouble. Danis provided everything at home as their Aunt was now retired.he didn't complain about his brother not getting a job. 

"You better go get something to do" Aunt Maggy said she was getting angry as it was visible in the folds on her forehead. 
"There's no good job out there" Davis said as he made to open the fridge. Aunt Maggy stood in front of him.
" You haven't gone out " she said, "why are you do lazy" she added and then shushed him as she continued. 
"You think Danis  will always be around to feed you?" She shaked her head feeling sorry for him.
"Sooner or later he'll get a life out of her with s family" she said.
"I'll get a job" Davis said as his head hung low. 

That evening after Danis flung open the windows letting the smoke out of the room. He hurled the Shisha pot out to the backyard and  scattered. He then went back to room and sat facing Davis who was now sleeping on the sofa. Soon he noticed that his chest heaved. Davis was actually struggling to breathe. He rushed him outside to the car. Aunt Maggy came out and was startled at was happening.
"He can't breathe" was all Danis could say as he moved the car from the garage.

Davis got up to the beeping sounds of monitors in the hospital. Danis was sleeping next to him, in a couch. He felt sad as he remembered what he had been doing. 
"I'm sorry" he said as Danis woke up, he had been watching him sleep.
"It's ok brother" Danis said, he was happy to see him awake. Davis raised his hand slightly, then continued, 
"I've been a burden for" he looked away,
"I promise to take care of you too" he added. He then looked up to the wide smile of aunt Maggy, this time with tears.
