We had a White Christmas in the UK (the photo above is from the French Alps a few years back but it makes the point I think) - well really a few Northern regions had a light enough dusting of snow to call it a White Christmas - all we got in Yorkshire was a bit of sleet on Christmas Eve.

But there you have it, Christmas is already done and I didn't even have chance to see it coming. As usual I just get swamped with work and the only break I actually get is Christmas Day by which time it's already over. This year has been worse then ever with the increase in domestic orders there has been no slow down at all, 23rd December was the busiest ever, and on the 24th I was still packing orders right up to 1pm. And it still doesn't end - today on the 27th I was back in work packing orders - and didn't even clear everything that has come in from the 24th onwards.

We are due more snow over the next few days, but it won't be enough to make a snowman like some years back - this was a greet one with little mini me when he was all cute.

It's not really felt like Christmas thanks to Covid though, with continued restrictions on going out, the stores that can open and even visiting family - a time of year that is traditionally about catching up with rarely seen relatives has felt strangely isolated.

Covid has a lot to answer for, and these disposable face masks are top of my list. Taking over from plastic carrier bags which used to be a menace discarded and caught in trees and blocking drains and rivers - the disposable face mask has taken over you can't walk far in the UK without finding these and no doubt countless wildlife is suffering from it. Re-usable masks with a washable filter are far more cost effective in the long run, but it seems these disposable masks are handy for people who forgot to take a mask and need one in a store - some will give them away to allow customers to shop but of course with no value as soon as they are out of the shop it's discarded.

The follow up and delegations post should be tomorrow all being well, I was surprised at how quickly the word spread so many more nominations then I expected but it is good to see Hive is still as active as ever - I'm excited to start rewarding the winners with their delegations so they can kick off 2021 with greater influence.
