# <center>  White Crab Spider </center> 
<center> **Scientific Name:** *Thomisidae*

Crab Spiders are very interesting, they have the capability of changing from white to yellow and back again, I found a [Golden Rod Crab Spider](https://steemit.com/photography/@cainplant/photo-of-the-day-5) a few weeks ago, it has two golden rod stripes on its behind that you do not see on this one.

It is said that  pollinators are more attracted to flowers with other insects on them, like crab spiders, because ultraviolet markings on flowers that initially attract a bee to a flower look similar to that found on insects.

 *They hide very well, I was  taking a photo of a bee when I  realized there was this white crab spider camouflaged right in the [Globe Thistle](https://steemit.com/photography/@cainplant/flower-photography-no-8).  A sneaky sneaky spider, always surprising me!*

**Crab Spiders are not poisonous, they generally do not bite unless they are in danger and feel it is necessary for protection.**
