<div class="text-justify"> Greetings everyone! We really can't tell what lies ahead of our day. We couldn't deny, that we have those days when we had planned and prepared what to do already, yet, unexpectedly, time surprised us with another thing or activities to do - **things unplanned** that turned out to be unusual and full of fun. And this is what happened on our Saturday. The weather last week was perfectly fine and bright which led us to finally plan and schedule our island escapade for 2 days and 1 night which was supposed to happen this weekend. Unfortunately, on Friday it rained hard the whole night. Saturday morning the rain had stopped, but there had no early sign of Mr. Sun coming out. We had no choice but to cancel our island escapade. My energy went low because of our canceled getaway. I had been imagining myself running on the island this weekend. And this whole thought made me so excited and energetic for the whole week. Now that it was, I couldn't help but feel tired. My husband noticed the shift in my mood so he suggested doing something to make my day. *"How about, we will go to a beach, well it's not an island, but still, it's a beach."* he proposed. He checked the calendar and it says it was low tide. He continued, *"Let's pick some shells on the beach today because it's low tide, we will bring some "baon" rice with us, and let's eat there, when high tide comes, we can go swimming!".* My face glowed with the idea. I didn't know maybe my brain had been programmed to "BEACH MODE" this weekend that it brightens up when it heard the word beach! We packed a few things and food with us and traveled to the beach. It took us approximately 1 hour via motorbike to reach our destination, the **Tigbawan Beach.** *The Tigbawan beach/sea during low tide.* **Tigbawan Beach** is a beach/sea best for picking shells and other seafood. During low tide, Tigbawan reveals its sea floor abundant with seaweeds, rocks, and corals - home to shells and other seafood. There is sand though on the beach but only a little portion of Tigbawan beach. The rest is covered with seaweeds. One can still enjoy swimming but I should say, the experience would not be that good. Most of the time, people go there for picking shells instead of swimming. It was past 2:00 PM when we arrived at the beach and its tide was very low. Guess what? The sun came out and shone brightly. *Tsk. We could have gone to the island! * But we're there already, so, I should "enjoy the moment". We placed our bags on the rocks and started walking and looking for shells. This was not my first time looking for shells, way back when we were younger, my parents always brought us to the sea once in every quarter of the year to pick some shells and bring them back home for our viand. (One of my best childhood memories). Did you know that the soup made from the shells you hand-picked on the sea floor tastes sweeter and more delectable compared to the sea shells you bought in the market, no matter how fresh it is? Trust me, your handpicked seashells taste different! I brought a plastic container with me where I could put my seashells. The seafloor was very generous to us this time because we found plenty of shells. There were times when shells were very few and hard to find. I was seriously looking on the seafloor and keenly eyeing whatever shells I could pick! I was bending my body over to see the water clearly. *(Pretty serious huh?)* I kept on walking and moving to areas with lots of seaweeds which I believe have plenty of seashells. I know I could not fill my container full. I'm not that expert in picking shells, but I enjoyed picking shells this time so much that I could fill a whole bucket if no one would stop me. Haha .lol. I was hoping I could pick some crabs but unfortunately, I didn't find one. Me and my husband separate directions in looking for shells. We also took turns in holding our baby. My baby also had fun walking and playing on the seafloor. While I got plenty of " sikad-sikad" shells, my husband also got plenty of "swaki" sea urchins with him. When we had enough catch with us, we went to the side and ate our rice paired with the fresh sea urchins. We opened and added vinegar to the sea urchins which made them so tasty to eat! We had a great time eating and our tummy was so full. I realized it hit different when you put some sweat and effort first before you could get and eat your food. I also took some pictures of the beautiful view of the sea. ----- Not only that I had a great time picking shells but I also had a unique bonding moment with my family. This experience cost us less penny but the whole experience was all worth it. I'll be glad to do this in the coming weekends when I have no appointments or another unplanned weekend like this is more than okay with me. ----- **While picking shells, I realized and appreciate (more) how beautiful and generous mother nature is. Indeed, in life, you have to work hard and put some sweat to gain and harvest something in the end. Lastly, enjoy life, enjoy today, because tomorrow is never promised.** ----- Happy weekend everyone!๐ค [//]:# (!pinmapple 10.886012 lat 123.887048 long Tigbawan Beach d3scr) </div>
