Steemit is like a butterfly. First it was a little caterpillar of ideas and dreams, then it started to gather strength. Steemit managed to summon the power of economic incentives aligned with value and content creation. Now we are starting to see the blooming growth of creativity, empowerment of the individual, freedom and new possibilities.

### The skeptics

I hear the doubtful whispers in the corners; “This is too good to be true!” “Where does the money come from?” “It must be a scam” “I will wait and see what happens, this is too scary”. This always happens when something new comes into existence, we don't really believe it at first, and we try to look for a problem somewhere, there must be a catch, right!?

All I can say is that trying new things is risky, we still don't know the future of steem, anything can happen. For me this is more exciting than it is scary. I love taking risks and trying new things. Why lump together on the trodden path when you can go somewhere new, and be part of creating the future? I think that each and every one of us are shaping the future of the internet right here and now.

### What is the potential of Steemit?

How far can Steemit go? How beautiful can this butterfly become? I think we have only scratched the surface of Steemits potential. It is growing fast with 2000 new users each day. What can each of them  bring? What will they share? What are they dreaming about? Steemit is connecting people from all over the world and enables cooperation and transfer of value across borders, all over the globe. How can this not be a good thing? Whatever Steemit will become, it is already a great game changer.
