 I was called upon this morning by one of my project mates that we will be visiting our project site today and that our project supervisor is already set to take us there himself, prior to this morning, we have agreed to meet with him for us to know our bearing with our project issue. I jumped on my feet and started rushing around in my room just to tidy up and rush down to school because my project supervisor is the acting H. O. D. of my department; department of Animal Nutrition in the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokut thus, it will be inappropriate to delay someone like that. When I was done freshening up, I took a bike and within a very short period of time, to be precise about 15 minutes, I got to school and we moved down to the project site boarding one of the cabs that operate within the school premises. Below are some of the pictures I took when we were going.   I had in mind before that I was gonna rear broilers, brood the birds from day old to four weeks of age and continue the normal routing management after four weeks of age, at that time, rearing them will be easier compared to when they were at day old till around three weeks of age. All this will be done in collaboration with my project mates. >Below is the picture of the interior parts of the project site.  Behold my mood changed when I saw local (indigenous) fowls 😂😂😂 at the project site. I said >No way, this cannot be my project. I don't like the indigenous breeds for one reason which is: **they don't gain weight which means it is a total waste of time to rear them and a total waste of resources to feed them**. Now what will I do, I just stood there looking at the birds that were also in turn **smiling at me**. I couldn't cry because ladies were around >Am a big boy. winks  My hopes were raised up back when our supervisor said the indigenous breeds are part of our project, but we will have to rear broilers too. I jumped up and was so happy, full of energy and anxiety, ready to commence work soonest. The peoject will cost us a lot but I do not want to go into details for now. I just feel happy I will be learning something new when this project commences fully. How to compound feed is part of the things I will learn, manipulations which are carried out on farm is also part of what I will also learn. Believe me, manipulations are being carried out on farms because there are times we might not get what we need, so we will have to rely on what is available at that moment. **There is no sin in doing this**. Lolllll We all agreed (project students) to contribute and start the project soonest. We wrote out a list of things that are needed in the poultry, we also drafted out our plans and made a budget surplus just in case an unforeseen expense comes up in the course of the project. We left the project site after having spent 3 hours there. >Part of what we did there were: 1)We took care of the local birds that are there by giving them feed and water.   2)We gathered the useful feeding and drinking trough and made a list of other items that are needed which are not available.  3)Culling; that is removal of sick birds in order to prevent the disease which might have caused the sickness to from spreading amongst the birds. >Below is the picture of a sick bird that was found at the project site.  **taking a closer look at the bird**  Serious business is about to begin most especially the need for us to tidy up the place as things are still somehow messy there. I am not scared for whatever reason because I have with me **ready-to-work** project mates. People like: *Gabby Jay* *Ola* *Raodat* *Gbolagade* *Zullygold* *Tonny gbangba* *And Claire baby.* We all are being supervised by Dr. Mohammed a PhD holder under the guidance of Dr. Sobayo the acting H. O. D. For the department of Animal Nutrition.
